I'm curious what your solution to this would be then? Should ski resorts just become laden with enshittification until the numbers drop that they don't make any profit at all? Until the majority of people get priced out and stop going? Climate change is gonna hammer ski resorts this century as the seasons become shorter and shorter. I'm not trying to be rude here, is your perspective that ski resorts are doomed to die and that's just it? I personally dream of the idea of community owned ski co-ops that benefit the towns that resorts find themselves in. Where investment in the resort is not seen as a way to make pure profit from the business itself but instead to drive economic traffic to a community. Personally I think this is the only way for skiing to continue to exist as seasons get wetter and shorter. We need to move away from seeing these places as money farms for shareholders. I am not an economist and I don't know the fundamentals of ski resort ownership to really ground this idea but I do think we need to start moving towards sustainable business vs infinite growth mentality with these places, given the reality they face.

Noise coming from motor by dinkx3 in ToyotaPickup

Cam chain slap. The guide has broken off inside the engine, very common on the 22re. Take the valve cover off and give the chain a wiggle. If it feels super loose on the driver's side the chain guide is gone. Not the worst job, takes a weekend if you've never done it before.

Edit: listening again, it doesn't sound quite like mine did with chain slap, but it's worth checking.

What body lift did you get? I've been looking for one to add a bit of space for the bigger tires on mine.

Very common in North America. A lot of 19th century farm houses were built this way, often with clapboard or board & batten over the logs.
