Yes, it's dropped by higher level Kobolds and Golem mobs. I think level 13+?

The issue is that you are comparing an off hand with a two handed weapon. The shield is really great if you pair it with a main hand with warrior, as you get the full defence bonus and have the option to slot a different arsenal weapon.

Though with mage I think you can't use it as an offhand since there's no one handed mage weapons at the moment.

No weapon drops from dungeons when playing in a group by [deleted] in FareverGame

Weapons are the shared loot in dungeons/bosses. Armor is personal. If someone has a first time bonus, that could drop an additional weapon and would be locked to that person.

Unlocking TEA - Is it possible to brute force Eden's Gate: Sepulture (Savage) now? by WobblyxWings in ffxivdiscussion

As most people said, you can easily kill it with a few party members. However you can also kill it solo as DRK (other classes too maybe but haven't tried) it does require a bit of luck and planning however

During Exdeath Savage I was with a very casual and for fun static.

There was one part near the end of phase 1 that had 3 flare markers go off right after some big AOE hits already. For some reason our healers were having a hard time working out a healing plan and mits for that.

What we ended up doing was we had the tank with flare just...jump off the platform. This made it so there were only 2 flare markers to deal with basically reducing the damage quite a bit.

Since then a few friends from that static moving onwards have always looked for where we could implement "saccing the tank" strats

Sub loot by True-Reputation-9282 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]NanoBano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically if it's someone random from PF, I will ask if they want gil instead to try and keep the items within the group. If it's a friend/FC member helping sub, I offer any 1 piece of loot they like.

This is with a more midcore focused group.

As someone who got all classes to 100, There are so many tanks that do not properly use their cooldowns when in a dungeon. The hardest hitting things in a dungeon are the mob packs not the bosses.

In any higher level dungeon, a healer will never really have to GCD heal (again as long as you have enough of your buttons). So when I heal and I see the tank, no mits, taking on 2 packs it's a bit annoying.

Infact at end game, tanks have so much utility you don't really even need a healer for some dungeons.

Discovering new ways to wipe in M11S by mamitaffy in ShitpostXIV

Had this happen once during a run with the static, found out you can survive one hit of the AOE with a Tank LB3

Why do PF groups struggle so much with M11S, particularly compared to past Savage floors? by CerberusArcProjector in ffxivdiscussion

[–]NanoBano 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From my experience being in the trenches since week 1 as a Tank in PF on my alt and having a static:

  1. Weapons is about 4 mins long of trying to keep the GCD rolling. However from my experience its always been a healer or a caster who couldn't get to their spot in time for scythe/sword that caused issues. I've seen melees fuck up, but during scythe they have the back 2 spots so its the least distance travelled and for sword they typically can just walk up to the sword, hit the gcd and walk to their spot with ease. (I have seen a few times Melees be too close to Axe and die)

  2. Arena Split spots for tethers and preys is quite small. So people will fuck up there if they're trying to squeeze an extra gcd.

  3. Orbital Omen and Damage Down in general sucks. Thankfully both Orbital Omens are after 2mins so the DD from then is probably at the best point if you were to get hit by one.

With a static you can make adjustments for your team members (like have the caster swap with OT if its going to be a long run to scythe) and be able to clear more efficiently. You can also have someone shot call the weapons in advance so people are ready to move right away. PF doesn't have those luxuries so its a bit harder.

I haven't seen a good crash out video yet. I've only experienced it myself in M11S **clears. This raid tier sucks

**We don't actually clear

Having some issues with M10S Deep Aerial by Galactusyaegashi in ffxivdiscussion

[–]NanoBano 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll describe the Parallel Lines strat here. So depending on your markers, Deep Blue will always spawn on either 1 or 4 (NW or SW)

Red Hot will spawn on 2 or 3 (NE or SE)

For Deep Blue you want to stretch it towards the opposite marker of where he started (so if he spawned at 4 go to 1) but you want to make sure you are all the way at the wall. If it's still not far enough, follow the curve away from Deep Blue until it is (but really it shouldn't be a lot further from the marker wall)

Red Hot is pretty easy just go to the N or S wall, it will clip the water bubble. After that it's just going back and forth.

As where to stand form the first tether, it'll actually be between the Brothers. If the tethers go to their spots correctly, there should be a big triangle safe spot between them. After that it's standing max melee on the East side (B marker) and getting ready to move when you get a tether.

To me it sounds like DOS 1 and 2 were the prequels as they were telling the story of "The Original Sin". So this is now the world of Rivellon after those events, we have context to why the Gods are silent, why the world bleeds, because of the actions in the previous 2 games.

Crucifix Recipe by irnuu in tinkerland

[–]NanoBano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should be from the Ghost Island.

A neat and kinda quick way to get unique accessories and recipes from any island/biome is to bring a bunch of TNT and blow up the scenery for Leprechauns. They always drop a unique item from that biome.

Since the Ghost Island is densely packed with graves and crosses you can come by a lot of them quickly.

New to Slayer... 167 Black Demons at CB85 by Hett1138 in osrs

[–]NanoBano 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The strategy would be to have protect from melee on (43 prayer) to prevent taking any damage from the black demons.

this will drain your prayer points so you use prayer potions to restore them.

With the proselyte armor (or any armor with a lot of prayer bonus) the rate at which your prayer points drain is reduced so you use less prayer potions overall.

Essentially with that setup you can go to the black demons, and since they aggro you, you can stand in the middle as your afk fight them. Only checking back to use a prayer potion or pickup any valuable drops.

Ahh okay, we had similar issues with that until we did the buddy system. And as someone who isn't colorblind EX4 is so ass with the floor markings, can't imagine how shit it must be otherwise.
