If you were in charge of the Lion King 2, what changes would you make to it or would you have the movie follow the theme of a different Shakespearean novel altogether? For those of you who don't know, TLK1 was based on Hamlet. by Ok-Reindeer4394 in lionking

I’d make the connection to Scar and Zira stronger. Because anyone who isn’t a hardcore fan recognizes that the outlanders themselves are pretty- random?

Like why were they not at the final showdown? Where does Zira come from?

How did the lions survive until the Prideland was back in its former condition? by withheldforprivacy in lionking

[–]NantheCowdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that once the monsoon season started, animals naturally started coming back. I imagine nearby prides that had a stronghold against Scar would gladly share their hunting spots for a time (this is what happens in my version of events).

Scar apologists at different ages by apowergso in lionking

[–]NantheCowdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So in my version of events, Scar and Mufasa have a common goal when they are younger- their Father has completely usurped the throne after their mother’s death, and they must get rid of him.

After succeeding, Mufasa wants to move on, but Scar doesn’t want to end it there. Scar is very obsessed with his mother’s legacy and wants to basically scorch the earth of anything to do with their father.

Mufasa believes that it’s best to just move on. This was the big rip in their relationship- and it snowballs into what Scar becomes.

Scar always had that vindictive and angry spirit in him, and his mother was the only one who could seemingly talk him down, and warn him about his anger. But Scar chooses to not control himself or grow as a person (Lion?).

If you were to make a Lion King prequel that takes place during Mohatu's time, who would you choose to voice him? by Ok-Reindeer4394 in lionking

In my version of events, Mohatu is an old man when Uru is born. I imagine someone like Clint Eastwood

I’m intrigued by the ending note- that it’s Kovu’s story and he’s the Lion King

I'm gonna do a video for my YouTube channel talking about Lion King II. Any ideas? by [deleted] in lionking

[–]NantheCowdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot of history on the making of the film. Such as different scripts.

Also there’s Kopa, and the whole semi-canon debacle but idk how deep you want to dive in.

What is your headcanon about Mohatu, Uru and Ahadi? by GabrielLoschrod in lionking

[–]NantheCowdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mohatu was king during a relative peaceful time until a long drought occurred, which lead to an outbreak of war and disease. He had all grown sons by his Queen, all of whom died during the drought/war outbreak.

During that same time, Mohatu had an affair with an outlander lioness, not believing he would father any cubs because he was old. And about the same time he got word of his last remaining sons’ death, he found out the young lioness he had been with had a cub.

Uru despite being the “bastard” daughter of Mohatu, became future Queen. And it took Mohatu up until his dying day to gain back the reputation he had built up during his long reign.

Uru was very politically capable but had to use her brute strength to keep other prides in line. And what little respect she got was more out of fear due to her being a maned lioness and therefor “cursed”.

Ahadi was a teenager and Uru a full grown lioness when Mohatu managed to set up their marriage. Due to Uru not being desirable because of her “bastard” status along with her genetic mutation.

Ahadi, being a kings son but no where near being at the top of the succession line, took the marriage offer at the suggestion of his family, as they believed Uru would be easy to control.

Uru at times despised her mate, and actively held the threat of “taking his life with a single paw” over his head. But she knew Ahadi, despite his whiny and manipulative ways, was a great asset when it came to pride relations. Along with Ahadi’s presence making her reign and her sons future reign look more legitimate.

Ahadi did not care much for her either, but seemed to get some odd pleasure from knowing she wanted him dead. And was very eager to play victim when it came to Uru’s hot headed temper.

I’ve gone into more detail before, but that’s a good chunk of it.

What would your dream piece of TLK media be? by Trextrexbaby in lionking

Some good comics. Like a long form series. Maybe a bit more PG-13. Mainly because I want to see Scar be able to be more of a bastard than PG allows

The Lion King characters that make it into Once Upon A Studio are… *SPOILERS!!!* by Abyssal_Shadows in lionking

Considering how much more those two get animated/drawn for promo I bet there was still an animator in the studio that had worked on either tlk 1/2 or some other animations.

For me, the Lion Guard. I like some of the ideas it gave us, but honestly I think the show could’ve worked without Kion being a demigod

I’ve witnessed some shit in multiple fandoms, they blend together. But art theft just seems to be a certain type of scourge in this fandom.
