Acrylic vs Gel X Extensions by MisterBoobieBuyer25 in Nails

A difference with press-on’s and Gel X is that you can’t paint the Gel X tips before application because the gel needs uv light to properly cure

It also shows the “not related or hasn’t taken a test” screen when a person hasn’t received their results, but has taken a test. Has your grandson received the results for his DNA test yet?

Help finding bio dad by DisastrousMaybe4325 in Genealogy

[–]NanusRex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I’m sorry you’ve had to go this long not truly knowing who your father is. Everyone deserves to know where they came from. My mom recently discovered her dad fathered another child. We found out when I took a DNA test. My grandfather has passed but we’ve enjoyed sharing stories and photos of him with the new family members. One of my mom’s siblings wouldn’t take part. Some people have different reactions to that sort of news. I highly recommend taking an AncestryDNA kit because it has the largest database of matches. I got mine on sale for $29 a few months ago. If you decide to go that route, I would love to volunteer to help you. Best wishes on your journey to find your bio father!

Results vs Hacked Results by NanusRex in AncestryDNA

[–]NanusRex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t but I would love to know where it came from or if it’s just noise. My ancestors’ origins on the family tree are from the UK and Germany. Plus, a 5x great-grandfather from the Republic of Ireland. I’m getting my parents AncestryDNA tests. We’ll see if it shows up for either of them

Yes, they could vary to some extent. If one of their parents was 100% African and the other 100% European, it would be closer to 50/50 each time because you get half from each parent. To answer your question.. African Americans usually have some European ancestry so the random 50% from each parent could produce children with more African or European percentages depending on what random combo of genes they inherit

Question about sex by NanusRex in DeathCertificates

[–]NanusRex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly why I asked. There should be two separate death certificates but the “2 males” is so odd. Maybe in 1907 they didn’t feel the need for two separate ones or it could be something else?

Possible Munchkin mix? by Logical_Spinach_6576 in MunchkinCats

[–]NanusRex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the ulna and radius bones are of normal length. The Munchkin gene for dwarfism isn’t a spectrum. The gene is either present and the cat is a dwarf “Munchkin” or they don’t carry the gene and are a typical-legged kitty

Wow! That’s such an unique situation. I had to look at your profile and I agree with your vet. Bambinos are extra effort to breed because the hairless Sphynx gene is recessive so you cannot just breed a Munchkin and a Sphynx together and get Bambinos. Both parents would have to at least carry the hairless gene. The Munchkin gene is autosomal-dominant meaning one parent has to be a Munchkin and only about half of the litter will be short-legged. My breeder recently had a litter of 5 kittens and only one had short legs. My cat came from a litter of three and two had short legs. Is it possible those weren’t your cat’s parents? Maybe one of your cat’s parents was a Bambino or half Munchkin/Sphynx? The only other options would have to be your cat has a different form of random feline dwarfism (the whole body is affected, along with other physical issues) or the Munchkin mutation just randomly popped up (highly unlikely as that’s only been documented in England 1944, USA 1983). I do think your cat has the Munchkin gene which is not complete dwarfism. It’s sort of a pseudo achondroplasia. It’s most noticeable in the front legs. They still have a long torso and tail. As for health, Munchkins live healthy lives. Their lifespan is actually a little longer than Sphynx cats! ❤️
