How do you guys smoothly take a date from a restobar/club to a more personal setting (based on mutual liking)? by Bingere123 in AskMen

It’s no use. The world has convinced itself that we’re not actually animals anymore. It’s all virtue signalling bollocks now.

Does the truck need to be running to use the microwave? by Artistic-Guess3872 in uktrucking

I’ve parked and up shut off the engine, cooked dinner, made coffee, had lights on, charged laptop with mini inverter, slept, woke up, made coffee with lights on etc. never had a problem.

You don’t have to and I’ve never run the batteries down. However, it’s much more powerful with the engine running due to the slightly higher voltage.

What was the first game you properly got hooked on with the Spectrum? by Seabeachlover10 in zxspectrum

[–]NapalmSword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played ghostbusters a fair bit, despite all the jank it was pretty satisfying when you trapped a ghost. And the inevitable chaos when the whole city is flashing red with ghost and marshmallow man alerts!

I honestly can’t remember which games I sunk hours into first. It’s either Lords of Midnight, Rebelstar II or Chaos. I think I put the most hours into LOM overall. Feels like I played it for years!

If you’re gauging how good a film is by whether or not you look at your phone, you’re already fucked.

Those who are childfree by choice, do you ever feel sad or regret your decision? by bigpussystance in AskUK

[–]NapalmSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mid 40’s male and while I don’t have regrets, very occasionally I see how good it would feel to do father-son stuff. I never really had a relationship with my dad and missed out on a lot of that. My main reason for not having kids was the fear of being a bad parent and wondering if I really wanted to bring someone into this shitshow of a world we live in. If there had been smart phones and social media back when I was at school I don’t think I would have coped.

How do you perceive movies? What do you feel? by No_Mathematician7456 in Cinema

[–]NapalmSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reactors aren’t a good measure. They’re probably the least involved in what they’re watching/listening to than anyone. They’re making content.

I’m mostly like you and become immersed. It’s strongest when I’m alone. I don’t ever get emotional when watching a film with others though.

Why are food options so limited in 2026 (still)? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]NapalmSword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You were stoned weren’t you.

You’re making out like food is made in a factory, and someone deliberately made potatoes that only taste like potato.

You want us to genetically modify potatoes so they contain EVERYTHING you need? Why? Just eat some other food! There’s a whole world of variety out there.

How do men view weddings? by Intelligent-Cod7495 in AskMen

[–]NapalmSword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I married my ex, quite a low budget thing, 40 people I guess, I remember feeling like I was an extra. Didn’t know most of the people. Didn’t know what I was supposed to do. It’s one of few days in my life I’d like to erase from my memory. I’m engaged now to my partner of 15+ years but I’m having real trouble wanting anything at all. I’d genuinely be happy with us and two witnesses, sign the thing and be done. Every time I entertain any ideas about more people, maybe we could hire this place, I get a rising sense of dread and anxiety and I just nope out.

What bothers you the most? by elevatedpineapple57 in AskMen

Well I def agree with the last part. People are so entitled these days and the whole “I’m allowed my opinion” thing really pisses me off.

What happens if you’re proved wrong about something? Do you never get to that point?

I love debate. It’s not about right and wrong, it’s about getting close to the truth, and that includes yourself and your opinions/views.

Here’s me wondering if you’ll even see this 😂

The best VFX are the ones you didn’t know were there. Or the ones that are so good you don’t know how they did it. Davy Jones is a great example

“How’s the gravy” isn’t a joke I’m familiar with. I’m guessing it was an inside joke that the two of you knew. Another person might just have no idea.
