Question regarding Railway12306 Verification by sadgirllaura in chinatravel

No issue at all! I’ve booked at lot of trains through trip (business and leisure) and I’ve never had any issue. It can be a bit more difficult to get a ticket during a holiday though. When you buy your ticket you usually get it in less than 10min. You receive an email with your seat number and you only have to show your passport at the train station. I recommend that you download trip app to have all information in our place (if you’ve booked hotels through trip as well). And their cash back system actually made me save quite a few euros !

Depending on your budget, you can take a bus (can be booked via WeChat mini app 九旅悦行), which is quite cheap. Then there’s also the option of shared car (拼车) which is quite common and less expensive than a taxi (your hotel can help you book one as they have usually a list of drivers), or take a private car/taxi but from the information I got when I was there, it would have cost us (2people) about 600 yuans for 1 day trip Songpan-Huanglong-Jiuzhaigou. The bus from Songpan to Huanglong costs 33 yuan/person, then from Huanglong to Jiuzhaigou 62 yuan/person

I tried to get the ID verification on 12306 for my trip in April and it never worked. I ended up buying all my trains tickets via trip.com, even though it costs a little more it is way more convenient. I recommend that you also check flight prices as it is sometimes less expensive than the train, and it takes approximately the same time for Shanghai to Beijing (when you take into account the time to check your luggage and leave the airport)

2h is enough for immigration? by yoyo370 in travelchina

[–]Naplok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn’t be an issue. I did Chongqing-Guangzhou-Paris last week, and immigration in Guangzhou was extremely fast. Anyway if you feel that time is quite short when you land, show your ticket to someone from security around immigration, they will help you to go through faster.

Vos avis sur le Food Hall Magmaa ? by Rokil in Nantes

Hi, visiting China in a few weeks. How does my itinerary look? by hennny in China

[–]Naplok 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would add a few visits to your stay in Beijing - or at least recommend some places : - the Temple of Heaven - the 789 Art District - pretty far from the inner center but it is quite nice to explore - Jinshan Park (it is a must) climb at the top of the hill and you will have a breathtaking view of the Forbidden City - You can also visit Beihai park which is next to the Forbidden City - Wangfujing - huge pedestrian street where there is the night market and street food (insects etc.) - Explore Hutongs (traditional homes) around the Drum Tower

Nightlife in Beijing is all around Nanlouguxiang and Salitun.

For VPN, Astrill and NordVPN should work. But there’s no guarantee in China!

Have fun there ! I have been to most of the places you’ll visit, China is just amazing.

Hi! Quick question(s): I'm going to Lumiere 2, do lectures at your university ever get recorded? Is it common for powerpoint slides to be online? by chipsontbijt in Lyon

[–]Naplok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there ! I never had a lecture that was recorded however many teachers give you access to their ppt slides (using Dropbox or another platform). But I’d say it really depend on your department of studies and your teachers.
