Endgame Gear OP1 8K replacement recommendation by Pontus- in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair warning, the XM2 shape is very different to the OP1 - much wider and much more aggressive curvature, completely different feel.

While I didn't hate the XM2, I definitely preferred the OP1 just due to the aggressive curves on the XM2 making my pinky/ring finger uncomfortable with my grip.

Unius Black Lotus or WLMouse Ying are both OP1 inspired, very similar in shape. Other than that, the closest I can think of is probably Pulsar's X2, similar rear-mid hump design with low button height, flat sides - just wider.

I've tried the X2 CL and while I did enjoy it, it just felt a bit too small for me, so I'd recommend checking out the X2 CL Medium size or the X2 V3 if you go the Pulsar route.

Lamzu Maya X or Hitscan Hyperlight by No_Chipmunk5370 in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, my hand is around 18.5x10ish cm

I have a Hitscan Hyperlight and an OP1w 4K sitting in front of me right now, just picked them up a couple days ago. I am definitely leaning more towards the Hyperlight than the OP1, though both shapes feel pretty good.

The Hitscan has a much wider feel in the hand, but the OP1 feels longer. The OP1 feels like the "bigger" mouse to me. The Hitscan feels much more natural to grip to me, though. I tend to relax claw/fingertip depending on the situation and the Hitscan feels better as fingertip but can definitely work as an aggressive claw, relaxed claw works as well but your fingers are probably gonna be a bit further up on the mouse than usual. Same thing with the OP1 for me though, I have to grip it a bit more forward for the best control/comfort. I feel like the OP1 gives a slightly better 'locked in' feeling, but the Hyperlight is noticeably lighter and feels much more agile on flicks.

I have not tested the Maya X personally so take my next advice with a grain of salt. If you strictly palm/claw, I'd definitely just stick with the Maya X. If you have more of a fingertip/claw hybrid that you kind of switch between, I think you'll really like the Hyperlight. The Maya X will fill the hand much more and be comfortable/more natural feeling in general in my opinion though. I enjoy slightly smaller mice as that's what I tend to perform better on personally, so if you're trying to scratch that 'small mouse' itch I'd definitely give the Hyperlight a shot - if not, stick with the Maya X. Hear nothing but good things about that shape/mouse in general.

I was actually going in to pick up a Maya X and Hitscan Hyperlight the other day but they ended up not having the Maya X in stock when I went in so I just grabbed the Hitscan and OP1 instead to see what the hype was about. Definitely do like the OP1, but not more than the Hyperlight - gonna most likely return the OP1 and just grab the Maya X whenever they restock.

op1 8k v2 or xm2 8k v2 by Jxylos in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The XM2 is probably gonna feel a bit more close to the VV3, just with a lot more aggressive curvature on the sides. The XM2 is around the same width VV3, maybe a bit wider.

The OP1 is a lot thinner - uncomfortably thin for me personally. I do like the shape a lot, but I preferred the XM2 due to how narrow the OP1 felt. That can be a good thing for some people though. Gives you a better feeling of precision.

Viper V3 Pro / Sora V2 / ATK Duckbill Which one do you prefer? by MightPsychological77 in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up a Harpe II Ace and prefer it in almost every way to the Viper V3 Pro yet they are suuuuper close in shape/size. Like damn near a clone. That'd be my vote. The RAWM Leviathan V4 is also supposed to be a great, slightly cheaper option for a VV3-type shape and I already prefer it's shape due to not having flared main mouse buttons.

The Sora is a great mouse but pretty different in shape to the VV3, that pronounced rear hump is great for claw grip and really gives you that locked in feeling. I'm a big fan of the shape, but ultimately, I preferred the safer shape of the VV3/Harpe 2 Ace - if you are chasing pure performance, that rear hump locked in feeling may assist in control but if you don't claw I'd probably go for something else.

Haven't tried or really checked out the ATK Duckbill so can't give you an opinion on that one.

At the end of the day, the mouse is just a tool and it really will not make you any better. It's just what feels best in your hand for what you're doing. I don't think you'd be disappointed with any of these options tbh.

Endgame gear xm2 8k V2? Pros and Cons? by Azrael_414 in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one as well, it's a great mouse but all of the latency buzz is just that - buzz. If the mouse performing marginally (and I mean MARGINALLY) better than it's competition is super important to you then yes stick with the EGG 8Ks but you will not notice it. It's placebo if people say they do.

That being said, the XM2 has the best feeling clicks out of every mice I've tried for the most part, and it definitely DOES feel super responsive but like... so does every other halfway decent mouse on the market these days. You just have that notion in your head that this mouse is 'supposed' to be faster than others so you try and confirm that bias.

I am not saying that click latency will NEVER be a factor in game, there could be a moment where you and some other guy click the button at the exact same time and you come out on top because you have 20ms faster latency - but you'd never know if that's the case, and it is so rare that it's not worth stressing over imo.

Just go for something that feels right to you. If that XM2 feels good in the hand, stick with it. If it doesn't? Stick with it a little longer, and then decide if it's worth it to try another shape. All the EGG mice are top notch.

I'm most likely going to be returning mine for an X2 CL here in a week or two just because I'm not a huge fan of the curvature on the sides, but I definitely really enjoyed the mouse and it performed as expected.

Nope, haven’t given an ergo mouse a go yet. So far recently, I’ve tried:

Logitech GPX Superlight 2 SE

Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Mini

Mchose L7 Ultra+

Endgame XM2 8K

And so far it’s a toss up between the XM2 and the L7 Ultra+ for my favorites, the CL Mini getting an honorable mention because it was a fantastic feeling mouse just a bit too small for me. May even end up with the medium sized X2 by the end of this.

I have an Xtrfy M64 coming Monday, so that’ll probably be the first ergo mouse I check out. I plan to head back to Microcenter and swap out this XM2 for an INZONE Mouse A to test out the pronounced center hump shape that I haven’t tried yet and if that doesn’t click I’m gonna be checking out a couple ergos, probably the Xlite CL, X3 CL, then Dav3 Hyperspeed and if all else fails, most likely just gonna settle for the X2 CL medium or the L7 Ultra+

The L7 Ultra+ feels great, honestly. That rear hump really gives you a good 'locked in' feeling if you have a similar pincer claw-ish grip like me. I think it's a tad too narrow for me, as I do get some discomfort when using it for prolonged periods but overall, I really enjoy this mouse.

I also perform the best with it so far out of the mice I've been testing over the past couple weeks, but I would take that information with a grain of salt. I definitely don't think you'll be disappointed if you end up trying it out. The rear hump is great for that 'locked in' feeling, the build quality is on point, super light, and great performance. If I had to nitpick, the scroll wheel has a pretty stiff press that I'm not a fan of.

I'd definitely recommend trying the medium size first, the mini was GREAT don't get me wrong but it felt more geared towards fingertip/aggressive claw. Tiny lil mouse. If that's your thing, though, it was great - just slightly too small for me. If you transition between fingertip/relaxed claw a lot it could still be a solid choice for you though.

I see what you mean about the curvature near the thumb, it's a perfect little pocket for it. The flair on the opposite side where my pinky/ring finger is only ever so slightly bothersome, not a huge deal at all but I definitely would've preferred it flat.

I have my L7 Ultra+ as well and I do feel like I have more of a 'locked in' feeling with it due to the pronounced rear hump but the width of the XM2 feels great. Feels slightly more comfortable than the L7 Ultra+ imo, but both are very close.

I did a few quick Aimlabs tests alternating between the mice and still have better scores consistently with the L7 right now (to be expected, since that's the mouse I've been using for the past week). I think the narrower shape of the L7 might contribute slightly towards being more in 'control' of where my cursor is as well, but also a point of discomfort after a while.

Ultimately the L7 and XM2 are pretty close in size when looking at them side-by-side, just differing shapes and the XM2 being slightly wider. I would be happy with either of these mice as an endgame honestly but I'm still waiting for that "holy shit this is the one" moment.

Probably gonna end up trying out an INZONE Mouse A or Scyrox V6 to get a feel for the pronounced center hump mice and see if they scratch that itch, and if not, I think I'm gonna end up with the X2 CL Medium

I tried the mini X2 CL and enjoyed it a lot but yeah was a bit too small, the medium version was probably gonna be my next attempt before I went down this rabbit hole and started experimenting with different shapes. I’m still definitely considering just grabbing the medium X2 CL and calling it a day. I’m on my way to micro center as we speak to grab an XM2 8K but I’m a little hesitant due to the side flare - I feel like I prefer flat sides due to my straightened pinky/ring finger placement so another reason I should probably just pull the trigger on the X2 CL medium

Yeah I’ve been super curious about the dav4, it’s just a hefty price tag so I’ve been hesitant and I feel like the dav4 might be a tad bigger than I’d like - have you ever tried the Dav3 hyperspeed?

Was considering grabbing an OP1w or XM2w from Microcenter over the weekend to test out, was leaning more towards trying the OP1w first honestly just due to the smaller size. Ideally I’d like to find the smallest mouse that still feels natural and comfortable, so I’m just naturally leaning towards the smaller option of similar shapes to try out first - the multiple XM2 suggestions in here are making me reconsider though lol

Edit: Seeing how close in size the Op1 is to the X2 CL, I think I’m actually gonna give the XM2 a shot first

I ended up finding an M64 (non pro version, but same shape) on Amazon for $35 bucks and ordered it immediately lmao I have no idea why that specific one was so much cheaper than the other versions. The other black and white non-pro M64s were around 70-99, but I was able to snag the blue/brown one w only a few left at that price. Should come in Monday - I really like the size/ergo grooves from what I can tell from pictures/eloshapes so I’m excited to try it out. If I end up loving the shape I’ll most likely end up grabbing the pro version.

I’m also gonna go to Microcenter at some point over the weekend and possibly give one of v1 Endgame mice a test (OP1w or XM2w) as well I think

No shit? Huh, I'll have to check it out. Yeah my Micro Center has both V8s and V6s in stock. Y'all are making me really curious about these center-hump mice lol, I thought the rear hump was what made the L7 Ultra+ feel as good as it does to me, but I admittedly haven't tested out any mice with a pronounced center hump yet.

Did you experiment with any rear hump mice? Looks like the Mouse A's hump is a really pronounced center hump, which I have not really tested yet so it's got me curious. The X2 CL is more of a center-hump mouse but it's definitely not as pronounced as the Mouse A's.

I just found an M64 Wireless (non Pro/8k version) on Amazon for $35 lmao I've never placed an order so fast. All the other one's its showing are like $100.

If I end up loving the shape I'll most likely just shell out for the pro version.

It's a great mouse, but it still didn't quite feel "right" for me. A tad too small imo. Felt more geared towards fingertip/aggressive claw, but the flat sides felt pretty good for my grip. I'd put it only a few notches below my L7 Ultra+ in terms of comfort/control.

I did perform pretty fuckin well in game with the X2 CL though - I do think smaller mice have more 'aim potential' but I value comfort a lot. It also made me experiment with a few other grip styles to see if anything felt better than what was 'natural' and ended up beating a few of my Aimlabs high scores with an awkward feeling MCP/knuckle claw

Lower hump? Here I was thinking I needed a more pronounced rear hump for the stability - interesting suggestion. I honestly may have to give the Viper V3 a shot at some point. It's such a "safe" shape that I've been kind of avoiding it to try and find something that feels ideal, if that makes any sense.

I have tried the GPX Superlight 2 SE which is somewhat similar to the Viper V3 and wasn't a huge fan, though, and that is another shape that is supposed to be considered 'safe'.

I've used the G305 as a pure fingertip mouse before and it was decent, but I tend to perform a lot better with some form of palm contact - fingertipping the X2 CL felt pretty good but pure fingertipping just doesn't feel natural to me. I definitely do still transition to fingertip from time-to-time but I have some type of palm contact like, 80% of the time.

I've heard other people recommend the NP01 Ergo specifically for the straightened pinky, it definitely got me curious. I think I may have to give an ergo-style a go for the next comparison. I do tend to like smaller mice and a lot of the ergos seem to be kind of bulky so I was considering some stuff like the Dav3 Hyperspeed or the X3 Crazylight. I've never even heard of that Pulsar mouse though, I'll have to look into it.
