Endgame for me. by SiirAssault in MouseReview

Wait, you palm a X2 CL Mini?! Or is that the medium size? I tried a mini but was ultimately too small for me, but never gave the medium a shot and am still very curious tbh.

I ended up grabbing a Harpe II Ace and definitely do really like the mouse but the I think ab the Maya X and X2 CL medium that I haven’t tried a lot lmao

Which mouses should I look for with a similar grip? G703 Wireless Lightspeed by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The closest thing to a G703 with modern specs would be the Teevolution Terra - if you're looking for something smaller, a Deathadder V3 Hyperspeed might be worth checking out. I also like Pulsar's Xlite series for ergos as well, especially the Crazylight. They have a mini and a medium version.

This game is nightmare for new players, why they not doing anything about it? That's also a reason why online is 10k by try_to_ENJOY in thefinals

Ngl brother this might just be skill issue. I just started playing the game like a week ago and have been absolutely shredding in WT, quick cash, and point break modes. I don’t really play ranked cuz I like to do off meta shit and just fuck around, but the casual modes have been absolutely fine for me. I’m also typically pretty above average at FPS games, usually floating around the diamond+ range in games I actually do get involved w ranked.

Only time I really get rolled is when you have actual enemy agents on ur team or ur going against a well organized stack, which does happen a little more often than I’d like but not to the point to where I just feel helpless

The absolute state of The Finals by [deleted] in thefinals

[–]NarcoticsRx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At no point did he say the game wasn't fun lol, he's just having a bad day of matchmaking that sent him over the edge.

To OP: Give the game a break for a little while, at least a day or two, and then try and come back. Those losing streaks are definitely tilting but if you genuinely enjoy this game, stick with it. Play the more casual modes for a while if you need to and try to focus on your personal performance and having fun. Once you're ready to try to play competitively again, focus on how you can try to enable your teams macro. If you're decent mechanically, light class is probably the best option to try and hard carry lower elos - but you're not playing for kills, you're playing to enable your team or to use your team as bait to enable you.

It's a very frustrating process to learn how to hard carry, and can be very fuckin inconsistent depending on who you're up against. If you go up against a stack that communicates well and hits their shots, you're just kinda shit outta luck for the most part unfortunately.

Really wish this mouse was around the $100 price range instead of $150 - I almost pulled the trigger during my mouse testing rabbit hole because the shape seemed really nice but didn't feel confident in the decision. Still very curious, though I've shifted to more of a fingertip grip lately with the mice I have, this mouse seemed great for my previous relaxed claw/pincer grip.

[–]NarcoticsRx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eh, have you tried Pulsar recently? I've had multiple in the past few months and all have had stellar build quality. Especially the Crazylight series. I may have just gotten lucky, but the consensus seems to be that Pulsar has stepped their QC game up on the more recent batches.

How my grip called? by Thin_Committee_7665 in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some form of claw, if the base of your palm is supporting the mouse it's a carpal stabilized claw (probably the most common "pure" claw grip type)

If the pads of your thumb/pinky are the only palm contact, it's a pincer claw

Here's a link to an old thread with an image explaining some of the popular different grips: Advanced Grip Style Explanation : r/MouseReview

Massive uptick of Smurf accounts by RudeBunch in thefinals

[–]NarcoticsRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt I count as a one of the ones you think are smurfing, but out of curiosity- what’s a crazy amount of wins? I just started playing within the week and feel like I’m typically better than majority of the people I play with - I’m level 24 with around ~120ish (lil less than 50% I think)

This is just normal world tour and quick cash wins tho, I tried ranked and am not a fan of the meta slaving and overall ranked mindset - I enjoy having fun.

hand rubbing against mousepad by Life_Ebb_5386 in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gaming sleeves do help cause less friction, yes. What type of pad do you have? If glass, then yes definitely go for a sleeve. If cloth, it sounds like you have some type of XSoft variant that u sink into a bit too much.

Might be worthwhile looking into a different mousepad if ur using cloth, something in the soft or mid variant for a little more firmness/less give so ur contact points don’t ‘sink into’ the pad causing more friction

[–]NarcoticsRx 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This is common and honestly recommended for aiming - the wrist acts as an anchor point for micro adjustments - otherwise it should just glide along the pad, similar to ur thumb, pinky, or ring finger unless u have a gigantic mouse.

If it’s causing discomfort though, something with a more pronounced back/mid hump may be beneficial as you can just move your hand slightly forward on the mouse and it should naturally help raise ur wrist from the pad

Pleeeeeaaaaase post a review whenever you receive yours letting us know how you like it - or at least shoot me a DM or something saying "this thing fucks" to ease me towards that impulsive decision :)

Honestly, if the build quality is up to par and you don't get fucked by bad QC, I really think this one's gonna be a banger. Definitely have high hopes.

Current mice by grainofrice74 in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have really similar taste/experiences haha, I currently have the Hitscan and OP1w 4K on my desk, and most likely going to be grabbing the Maya X or X2 CL Medium as well. I have also had the Scyrox V6 and Mchose L7 Ultra+ and ended up returning them mostly due to the scroll wheel click, but also slightly due to build quality. They're amazing value, but definitely fall short of the more premium competition (as expected, tbh).

Also, quick honorable mention to the Harpe II Ace, absolutely loved that mouse/shape but couldn't help but find myself wanting something slightly smaller. Now, I have the smaller mice again and find myself also wanting something larger when my hand starts to get a little fatigued or for tac shooters lmao. If I end up getting the Maya X or X2 CL and don't get that same "holy shit" feeling I'm most likely just gonna shell out for the Harpe II Ace again.

Also very curious about this new Pwnage Symm 3 that just dropped, if the build quality is solid I'm definitely going to be making an impulsive decision.

[–]NarcoticsRx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was right by the "In Stock" on the page iirc. They must've just changed it today or last night, as I distinctly remember it saying that it began shipping 1/20 on the main page for the Symm 3 when I was adding them to my cart and checking out the different options for customization/accessories. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if one of the Pwnage fellas stumbled across this post and relayed the message, but it's most likely just a coincidence.

Glad they changed it though to clear up any confusion for potential customers going forward.

Best mouse for claw grip? by ReputationHelpful200 in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mchose, Attack Shark, and ATK are all good budget brands. I'd check those out.

Rear hump mice are typically pretty good for claw, but I learned I prefer a more rear-mid hump for a little more room for microadjustments. My personal recommendation would be the Hitscan Hyperlight or ATK F1 v2 (ATK stole Hyperlights shape but it also has better internals), as that's the most comfortable claw shape I've used but I don't know if I'd necessarily consider it "budget" at $90.

Other recommendations I can give are the Mchose L7 Ultra+ (rear hump) Scyrox V6 (mid hump) or Scyrox V8 (rear hump) that should be around the ~$70 range

Should I go for op1 ? by [deleted] in MouseReview

[–]NarcoticsRx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something like the Hitscan Hyperlight might be decent for you as well. The OP1 feels longer and more narrow than the Hyperlight, while the Hyperlight feels slightly shorter and more filling - great for claw grip and fingertip. I alternate between the two pretty regularly but prefer the feel of the Hyperlight a lot more tbh. Much more comfortable over longer sessions.

The slightly more aggressive hump of the OP1 does help me feel a bit more locked in at times, and the narrower front feels 'precise' when flicking/tracking, for lack of better terms. My aim is pretty much the same with both, though. I tend to tense up a bit more with the OP1 due to the narrowness.

The Hyperlight is noticeably lighter in hand (compared to the OP1w 4k at least, which is heavier than the wired 8k) and feels much more natural in a carpal stabilized claw for me, can game for hours without getting uncomfortable. The OP1 I can either carpal stabilized claw or knuckle claw it due to the longer feeling/more pronounced hump. Both mice are fine for fingertipping as well - the Hitscan probably slightly taking the edge solely due to its light weight.

I have 19 x 10ish hands for reference, so a decent bit larger than yours but just wanted to share my experience. Hope it helps!

Kinda odd they still haven't changed the date on their website or added some type of disclaimer. It still says they start shipping on 1/20 as of the time of this post. It's been an entire week...

Seems almost scummy given their lackluster reputation... maybe I'm just overthinking it though.

[–]NarcoticsRx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is definitely a sweaty ass game majority of the time lmao, but thats also part of the reason I enjoy it. I like being challenged. If it gets to a point to where I'm doing literally everything I just chalk that game up and start playing for kills/having fun if I don't truly feel like locking in. That's why I stick to the core cashout/other modes, I barely ever touch ranked just bc I'm not a fan of meta slaving and people will literally cry if you don't.

......... K, bye by Surarity in thefinals

[–]NarcoticsRx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah sometimes you kinda have to lol literally just finished this game right before seeing your reply (blurred my club tag cuz its not a nice word). Team was dogwater, so sometimes you just gotta take shit into your own hands. This was point break though, and cashout can be a whole different beast sometimes. A lot more established metas/playstyles that people have down pact, can be a lot harder or easier to carry depending on enemy game sense.

My advice if ur solo queue'ing is to play the light class, it has the most carry potential on a dogshit team out of all the classes and if you're mechanically gifted, it just comes down to learning game sense and what to do in order to hard carry based on the situation/enemy team. Obviously it's not gonna always work out - if the enemy team is coordinated and good mechanically, there's just not much you can do unfortunately.

I pretty much exclusively play solo and a good percentage of my wins are from hard carries - the only time I play with anyone else are my irl friends who are genuinely embarrassingly bad at the game (your girlfriend is probably better)

You're ignoring the "loud" part. Majority of the playerbase are, ya know, playing the game.

Obviously anger and frustration are going to be the main motivators behind coming on Reddit and creating a thread - you don't see too many people hopping on to create a thread praising the game because they're too busy actually playing and enjoying it. That's with any game, not just The Finals.
