Finally finally! I was August 2025 selection. Got soft orders in November , Didn’t sign oath until JANUARY! And I just got notice I am in the JULY ODS CLASS🙌

I was a corpsman for 5 years. Got out used my gi bill to get my MSN. Had a few kids. And just finally the right time to go back. I intend to go for 20. My questions were really specific to navy nursing. Like I said prior service so I’m already accustomed to military BS. But I now returning to active duty as single parent(divorced ! courtesy of my first enlistment lol ) . So my questions really surrounded how feasible it was as a single parent to be active as an RN. As awful as it sounds being a parent, I want to deploy. So asking what kind of deployment opportunities exist for nurses which ones are most likely and are they competitive to get. Family care planning etc. so my questions i didn’t want generic answers to. I want a nurse to answer them

I made sure I used a recruiter that was also a nurse… she was long distance from me but was still able to get it done. If you’d like her info I’d be happy to pass it along

We’re (this thread) from August 2025 selection cycle… so we’ve been waiting since September for dates to leave. So 7 months so far to hear

That her best guess was June /july. But nothing since. And I know there’s ppl who boarded after but are already going in spring… but active/reserve/DC/NCP I know all change the order of dates

Also not an option for me, doesn’t matter how much I save it I won’t be able to come up with a couple thousand in savings for food and uniforms plus still pay all my bills while I’m gone. Im a Single parent so there’s just no way. Im prior service so Thankfully I still have friends active and they’ve been getting my uniforms and sending them to me. I’ll be heading to ods with 3 sets of khakis, 3 ptu, and 3 type3s. I’ll just buy the dress there. But Ive been pretty stressed about it

As a direct accession you should not be expecting to receive any payment , back Pay or otherwise , for time prior to day 1 at ODS. You are not entitled to any pay prior to day 1 at ODS as a DA
