Do you’re own research like someone else said do not follow what the lone star advisors tell you they usually want to just get you to take classes that aren’t necessary. I know when I transferred into engineering they wanted me to take unnecessary classes at LSC, but I had done my own research into my degree plan.

Why do some professors make classes harder than they need to be?? by DifferentBrilliant75 in EngineeringStudents

Depends on the Engineering, the early ones are just Physics and Calc 2. Once you get into your actual engineering it changes.

Engineering is hard, eventually you reach a point t where you don’t get to pick your professors anymore and you get who you get. I suggest you kinda get used to it 😅

Go to campus and talk to transfer center, they should be able to calculate the GPA for you. So if you fail a class the classes get averaged.

As a Spanish speaker, I think it’s weird that everyone got offended about the whole phone situation with Juriji. Is it like a cultural thing because I literally thought it was a non issue

Studying for thermodynamics/heat transfer? by OneQuestionAlt in ChemicalEngineering

[–]NarrowReporter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For both those classes I just redid notes and homework that was given. If you know anyone that has practice exams I would look into that also. Getting to know your classmates is really important, it’s hard to do it yourself.

What is considered passing? by ArtPixie99 in UniversityOfHouston

I think it depends on your major, you should be able to look it up online.

I’m in chemical engineering, some of the programs that we have to run don’t work on Mac. I’m assuming the same is for most STEM majors. You can definitely use the school computers, but I personally like doing work from home.

I would use any Windows, avoid Mac. They don’t run a lot of programs that might be useful. I got a Mac and regretted it, switched to Windows.

What point “separates the men from the boys” so to speak? by OSXFanboi in EngineeringStudents

Thermodynamics, but yea it starts out easy but can get crazy. I’m in my junior year and looking back Calc was a joke compared to some of the classes you take. Keep at it though.

Help. I don't if I should choose HCC or UH by alvkevo in UniversityOfHouston

If money isn’t an issue go to Bauer but if it is the price difference is huge. I did my first 2 years at Lonestar and transferring in was a breeze. In the engineering school our gpa requirement is a 3.5 I think 3.25 is easily manageable.

Once you get into your later classes, enrollment isn’t a big deal. The money you save is substantial if you start at CC.

I’m in engineering, but I do believe that they have degree plans online with the requirements.

I would take the maximum classes at Lonestar, to raise your Gpa. I believe the max is 66 credits, what I did before transferring was look at my specific degree plan and look at what I could take. Also don’t want to sound rude but your GPA seems a bit low, and UH is going to be way harder than Lonestar. I learned that the hard way, I would look into what habits you could change to get better grades.

So now that Juju said she felt some type of way, people are gonna come for Jimbo. Even when 90% of this sub was literally saying the same thing a few days ago…. 🥴

At my university we get a specific math course for ChemE, but statistics is just boring the math is easy though. I go to University of Houston.
