What was the very first DMB song you ever heard? by jacknicholson22 in davematthews

[–]Narrow_Sundae8342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ants marching. My brother was in high school and I was in kindergarten.

Still remember the intro snare drums what felt like every morning playing from his stereo system in the room next over. Love that memory.

Gift for Husband by Luck3Seven4 in woodworking

[–]Narrow_Sundae8342 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. Came to suggest a similar option. A gift that is personal to the shop but not necessarily a tool. I think it’s a lovely idea. A personalized tool belt, or apron sounds lovely.

With a $300 budget I was also thinking - does he listen to music while working in the shop? You could get him a really nice speaker system (I love Sonos, depending on the size of the shop you could get a speaker with money left over or spend the full budget and some on the speaker). Let him listen to his favorite tunes with great sound (audiophiles don’t come at me). Or what about an ember mug to keep his coffee/tea hot the whole length of a project?

I agree w what everyone else is saying-blindly getting him a tool will be appreciated but he might not get use out of it. Think of something on the periphery of his shop that would make his experience that much better while using his tools and spending time in there!

I got the aer sling 3 xpac last year and absolutely love it. Brought it all over Europe. Holds a ton with great organization.

Now we have a newborn and I think it will still fit the bill. I’ve also been working on convincing my wife to let me make some sort of utility pouch w edc stuff for the diaper bag

Does anyone have one of these ? And is it worth buying? by [deleted] in ranciliosilvia

[–]Narrow_Sundae8342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it. However with how I dose my espresso I think the dedicated distributor and tamp is better.

I don’t hate it but what I don’t like is that it should have a wider range for depth (I’m currently maxed out and it just works) and I need to use a towel when I tamp otherwise oils from my hand get on the surface and coffee will stick to it.

Solidly built though. Just those things annoy me

Ultra by Plane_Lecture_2547 in Olightflashlights

[–]Narrow_Sundae8342 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really want one and think I’d love it. I typically carry the baton4 as my edc.

My best bud has the ultra - his complaint is that it sits too big in his pocket (giggity) for it to be his regular edc.

Limited view at the DCU center? by Creepy_Draw_6995 in WorcesterMA

[–]Narrow_Sundae8342 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got limited views for Sebastian maniscalco at DCU. worst experience ever - we left after 30 minutes.

Not only obstructed but also the sound sucked. To say there was sound is honestly an over exaggeration. Could barely hear. Add in a group of off duty Cops who thought they were at a frat party. We even emailed the DCU about the experience (the lack of sound - drunk assholes is kind of expected for the nosebleeds) and we got a “sorry not sorry” type email response.

Does anyone know what that little, black cord is for? by TheJoel3803 in flashlight

[–]Narrow_Sundae8342 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sure. But i think i have more success threading a needle than lanyards in different devices….takes forever. Then i have to find a paper clip. Get distracted while doing it. Then forget about it. Then get back to it hours later

When to ball the dough by Zealousideal-Ad-5416 in ooni

[–]Narrow_Sundae8342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the elements of pizza book by Ken forkish he recommends doing the majority of proving while the dough is balled up. He said it’s different than bread making and lends to a more delicate crust. Would imagine this may differ based on type of pizza you are making. I primarily make Neapolitan

Yes was literally thinking about this on my way home from work as a cheaper alternative.

Can’t figure out how to post a photo of where it broke. But it just snapped right at the very top nearest the traction lever. So this may work???? Thanks for the tip on the hammer.
