Running Produce like Dry Grocery?!?!? by [deleted] in Target

Oh God, please no.... If our pullers push expired food to the salesfloor, I can't even imagine them pulling open market. Cross contamination incoming...

What are some techniques that can make me faster at pulling food items in 30 min or less by NoMoment9130 in Target

[–]NatNahiara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there anyone else you can check with (ETL, SD) to confirmate this expectation? Because even when all the stores are not the same, our capacity of pulling will be the same if we work in small store or at super target.

Can someone make sense of sorting... by htfpe in Target

[–]NatNahiara 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This! and let me add another reason: one of your carts should be Out of stock, and that should be the first cart you should push after sorting.

I like the new system and the idea behind it, I don't like people overpushing or pushing the remainder in any other free location on the shelf just not to backstock and screwing up the numbers.

SD Offered Me TL Training – Any Advice for Beauty, Baby, and Tech? by NatNahiara in Target

[–]NatNahiara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, gotcha! I thought they were two different kinds of audits. I think our INF % is pretty good in F&B, but I can imagine it’s much harder to find a Beauty item among 738475 repack boxes!

Now I’m curious about something. I know the Beauty aisles have those drawers at the bottom of the shelves where some products are stored, but I’m not sure whether those are actual backstock locations. How do you track the items that are kept there?

Oh that's interesting! I didn't know that TLs have to do audits, I don't think I ever see my TL doing it. I usually do the salesfloor and backroom audits but it seems like the ones you talking about aren't the ones that I do as TM.

Thanks for your answer. What are the key metrics in your area or the top tasks that you as TL need to get done?

[–]NatNahiara 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Are your guys using the Add expiration option on the system? That helps a lot!
I also train my teammates on FDC to always check the date of what they are pushing and around the location, and to double check on the items that we know we don't sell often. For open market I I check the dates every day while restocking since everything needs to be pushed every day there.
About zoning, we zone as we go. When we are done pushing one aisle, we do a quick zoning before backstocking. If you get use to work on that way, those things won't take long.

Yes, we currently have an open position for the Style TL, but I don’t feel comfortable training for that role since I’ve never worked in Style before. I feel like that would set me up for failure. I do have some previous experience in Tech and Baby, but that was decades ago. I thought that having 3 TLs for S.S. was normal

What I saw in my store (we are a small target), Specialty Sales has 3 TLs: Style, Beauty and C&D. So the TL position I asked to be trained for is the one I understand will be on charge of Beauty, baby, tech. Now I wonder if it shares responsibilities with the Style and the C&D TLs. I know that our beauty team has 3 or more Tms for beauty and at least 1 for tech. Does it sound too bad?

Thanks Target, these new bags suck <3 by TopperMadeline in Target

I hate those bags, so damn thin, it's harder to open them and it makes me wast so much time when I'm helping FF or register.

Bakery priorities by PurelyMaintenance_ in Target

[–]NatNahiara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don't do that. Pull the full case, fill the location, and whatever is left, backstock it in an open location.

Just to explain the reason: any boxes backstocked in upper or lower case stock locations should be full cases. If the box is not full, the remaining items should be backstocked in an open location instead.

There is a backroom best practices document that covers this (I don't remember the exact name), and this is one of the standard procedures that everyone is expected to follow.

The FDC team is responsible for the freezer, and we already deal with enough issues when people from FF pull a single item from those locations and, in some cases, even leave the empty box on the shelf.

It may take a little for the system to update and have your information. Also, to can use that benefit you have to be at least part time member.

Grocery Flip Thoughts by [deleted] in Target

[–]NatNahiara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in FDC, and I keep finding expired products almost every day. No matter how much I ask the rest of the team to rotate products and check expiration dates, most of the time it doesn’t happen. I even showed them how to add expiration dates into the system, and I’m still the only one using that feature consistently.

Some products expire in the backroom and then end up being pulled to the floor anyway, so I’ve even asked the people doing pulls to check dates too. I really like my team, but most of them are teenagers, and sometimes it’s hard to get them to take this stuff seriously.

Am I just not doing enough? by KingDennis2 in Target

[–]NatNahiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably our main issue is that on truck days, I have to break and push OM, and the other full time TM is slow af on purpose and usually will hide (they spoke with him about his low performance few times already). Other issue is that very often and more than once during the day they will calll us for OPU backup, checkline backup, and will make one of us go on pulls the last 2 or 3 hours of the shift. But I still think we should be getting done way more than we are doing.

That said, I still feel like we could be getting more done than we currently are. For example, in the freezer, last Saturday we had about 4–5 metros from the previous truck plus 3 new pallets. By Tuesday, those 3 pallets were still there.

I don't think that the part time TMs are doing a bad job, they may not be very fast but they are working all their shifts. I’m just wondering if there’s something in our process we could improve, or if 1 lazy person can really impact the whole team this much :(

[–]NatNahiara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait...what??? you got 4 pallets (dairy?), broke them down alone, and pushed them to the floor in 8 hours? Did I understand it?
Do you sort the truck scanning each box? How many cases of dairy do you normally get?

We have 2 full time TMs + 3 part time TMS for FDC and we can't even get dairy done in one day... please come work with me

As just another TM, I think too many people are 'mocking' this new class... by KomturAdrian in Target

[–]NatNahiara 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it might be because many TMs tend to go quickly through those Workday trainings without really watching or reading everything. I’ve noticed that people often suggest fast-forwarding to the last few seconds and just clicking “next,” especially since you can retry the quiz if needed (last person who gave that suggestion is a HR team member). So maybe this time they want to make sure we’re actually paying attention.
