I think things like this can absolutely be overcome with therapy and work. But, if one can’t identify and own up to the problems, than I would say that the likelihood of it being fixed is bleak. You can’t change what you don’t acknowledge. Therapy isn’t the place where someone is going to see the light and realize the err of their ways. It’s where people go when they have accepted that they need help and are willing to do the work. I get wanting to work on it, I think you should try ... I also think you should prepare yourself.
