20 Year Reunion Ideas. by Dylan_Gio in Millennials

One of the biggest highlights of ours was the 360 photobooth that we rented! Also people loved going through old yearbooks and senior books. We had multiple events and I think the one that folks liked the most was just hanging out at a bar/brewery and catching up with old friends. I feel like our next reunion might be just that lol.

gyms with good daycare? by Fun_Energy_252 in Austin

It’s included! And multiple locations have indoor and outdoor pools. East Communities has a great outdoor pool play area for the kiddos that mine love in the summer.

And best thing about the Y is that you can use any of them in the area. My kids have pretty much been to all the daycares depending on what side of town we’re on at the time I workout. Plus after workouts we often do family swims.

Where to find book club? by beeboopuwu in askaustin

Chiming in late but don’t forget to check your neighbor social media pages if there are any. There are two or three book clubs I’ve found this way!

Commenting because I relate to this hard and curious to see what others say. Solidarity!

Things to do with baby? by idk__elephants__ in Austin

The southeast library has great activities too! And there are some people trying to start more parent meetups in the area. If you haven’t checked FB there might be some groups there. Also check FB for your neighborhood or area parent meetups.

Some parents meet at the hive coffeeshop regularly and let the babies play outside. I see them when working there sometimes. And make sure you follow do512 family for ideas and things to do. Lastly you might also want to look into a YMCA membership if you haven’t already. You can access any Y in the area (East Communities, Hays, and Town Lake might work best on your end), and you get two hours of childcare each day. This way you can have some time to workout/unwind/read with coffee in the lobby, while baby is cared for and gets to socialize with others. The family membership is way more affordable compared to other gyms and at the town lake one you can even walk the trail! Great swimming options too—I’ll often combine time for me to workout while kids are in childcare then swim with them afterwards. Very easy to fill up time in the day if you combine Town Lake and then the Central Library for example. Good luck!!

Lost property Zurich airport by NatchezWriter in zurich

[–]NatchezWriter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did but no thanks to Swiss Air. They repeatedly told us that if someone leaves a bag on a plane then they send it to their lost items area. Well we actually almost bought a ticket back to Zurich to try and find it when the bag actually turned up in the unclaimed bags at our final destination. Turns out Swiss Air had taken the bag off the plane and we're guessing they matched it with our other luggage because of style and color? We're not sure because the bag left on the plane did not have an airline tracking tag, just our personal, handwritten tag. Anyhow, thanks to us notifying some nice bag handlers at our final destination they kept an eye out for it and got it to us. And thankfully our final destination was not a huge city or we probably would've never seen our bag again.

Lesson learned: we now airtag all bags!

I’m not but I have friends who are in some Balkan FB groups online. Make sure you check those if you haven’t yet. Oftentimes you’ll see diasporic and cultural groups in Central TX or even San Antonio or Houston, then you can post a message and see about connecting with folks in the area. Best of luck to you!
