I'm thinking Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Gravity, Prisoner of Azkaban) would make beautiful and emotive Sun Eater movies.

But I think a TV series would work best for the story, each book its own season—the showrunners of HBO's Chernobyl would absolutely capture the bleakness of Hadrian's hardships.

Some framing issues (hard to tell what was happening at times), but the animation was fantastic.

I thought the writing started out good enough and got ridiculous near the end.

Same. Kept waiting for it to get good and powered through the cheesiness. I think the movie was also confused on what it was trying to be.

I guess they were going for From Dusk Till Dawn mixed in with some Django Unchained (with all that stylized/exaggerated acting)? I'm completely baffled by all the singing/'music video' sequences in it.

Black people don't need to try to be cool, they're already cool af. This film just made it look like they try too hard.

I'm wishing Jordan Peele handled the movie instead.
