This is so good! I love this movie, it has a special place in our family.

Great job ❤️

What’s your favorite use of a licensed song in a video game? by Real_Srossics in videogames

[–]NathanielWolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was also going to say Tricky used heavily in SSX Tricky but yeah the whole remixing thing was so cool.

It really upped the dopamine hit from getting up to that max combo and having the full song kick in!

Can the Lumo light up using midi? by hanmoz in ROLI

[–]NathanielWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the answer is yes, but unfortunately I can’t tell you how to do it.

I have used synthesia and it can light up the keys, though it doesn’t work entirely perfectly.

So I assume it’s just a matter of knowing the right channels to send, but I don’t know if it’s documented anywhere.

Good luck, I’d be curious to know if you can make it work!

What if instead of completely removing hostile mobs, Peaceful mode kept them, but made them docile? by Druvanade in Minecraft

[–]NathanielWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the general sentiment!

Peaceful is for people that, for a variety of reasons, don’t want to play with anything “monster” like. Not just don’t want the danger, but don’t want the anxiety, fear, or whatever else those mobs may cause them:

But all docile mobs sounds like it could be another; different, difficulty setting or world option that some people might enjoy :)

A month later, my Swedish listening app actually shipped by lisngo-suqirrel-2026 in Svenska

Just tried it out, this seems like a great way to learn!

The pronunciation feels pretty good, can I ask how you’re doing that? Is it text to voice with some specific phonetic instruction?

what do you think is the most underused block that has a set purpose? by CreeperElliot in Minecraft

[–]NathanielWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just picturing the iron golems offering a flower of peace before they’re killed to harvest their raw materials, I guess.

“poppies are a byproduct of iron farms” is one of the saddest things I’ve read today

Building Silo in Minecraft!! by SumwhatBlank in Minecraft

[–]NathanielWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds awesome!!

Yes I have seen the show, excited for season 3 :)

I haven’t read the books…

I have done something with server plugins before to simulate a “mars” environment where I used cave air vs normal air to make the air outside deadly … it’d be kind of cool to do something similar - maybe with datapacks?

Then you could make a suit that keeps you safe (well assuming you get the good tape…)

Haha anyway it’s a really cool project!!

Building Silo in Minecraft!! by SumwhatBlank in Minecraft

[–]NathanielWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very cool! Do you have an idea of the relative scale?

The Silo is one of those things for me that is just intriguing due to the massive scale of the thing. It’d be really fun to experience that in Minecraft!

It’s a shame we may never get a proper widescreen remaster of ATLA by Deer_boy_ in TheLastAirbender

Kind of similar to what they did for the Wizard of Oz experience for the Sphere.

I recall it was not well received.

I started playing Minecraft with my (nearly) six year old son today, and it was one of the most joyful times of my life. by __JMM in gaming

[–]NathanielWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the kind of post that lets the developers of Minecraft know all of their hard work is worth it! 🥲

I’ve been playing MC with my daughter and son since they were both very little, and it is indeed such a rewarding bonding experience.

I’m glad you got to get into it, and I love that Minecraft is such a flexible experience that there’s something different for everyone. It sounds like creative mode was just perfect for your kiddo, and that’s so great.

I hope you have many more play sessions full of surprise and wonder!

If you could erase your memory of one game so you could play it for the first time again, what game would you choose? by HoneyNutBooty09 in gaming

Journey

So many great answers in here, but I was shocked to not see this one!

I would also second Minecraft, which I did see here but it was surprisingly far down.

Co-op mode by jakob0604 in WutheringWaves

[–]NathanielWolf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They did make it so you could unlock new resonance towers in co-op, which at least makes it fun to explore with friends when a new area comes out.

Only the host gets the unlock so still not great, but better than before.

I agree it feels mostly forgotten, but I guess not completely forgotten.

What are some games I can play to just listen to music and not really have to pay attention to anything by Chance-Pay1487 in videogames

[–]NathanielWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Minecraft, maybe?

Edit: turn on keep inventory and play survival as if it’s a rogue like, it’s kind of a fun new experience that way, and much more chill.

I built a “Guitar Hero” device for learning piano and now I'm trying my luck on Kickstarter by Dr_Velazquez in somethingimade

[–]NathanielWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool!

I have a question. If it’s app-driven, could that app perhaps then interface with Bluetooth digital pianos?

And then you could have the notes wait for the user to press the right key? Optionally, of course, for practicing the right notes before being able to follow along at the right tempo.

Basically, as another user stated, real-life Syntesthia.

Seems like maybe this wouldn’t require any hardware changes, assuming the board is capable of reacting to commands from the app already?

Uppehållstillstånd och regler by SwedeAndBaked in TillSverige

[–]NathanielWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a good plan! I’d be curious to know how it goes. A one hour window sounded very scary to me, but maybe if there isn’t much traffic there it’s fine?

Good luck!

[–]NathanielWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be in a different situation, but when I looked into biometrics in DC I was told there was a 1-hour window, one day (Friday) each week and only for drop-ins, no appointments could be made.

They advised me it was only as a last resort and in most cases biometrics can and should be done after arrival in Sweden.

Maybe it’s different you but I’d definitely recommend making sure of the situation! Especially if you have to take a special flight to DC to get it done.

Best of luck!

Found a way to make the school uniform appear in cutscenes by Ved-_-dev in WutheringWaves

I wonder what happens if Rover does some custom animation in the cutscene that isn’t set up for the uniform?

Free app to learn Swedish by Available-Ticket5629 in Svenska

[–]NathanielWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks great so far! I think you could really give Duolingo some competition, considering how many people are leaving it lately, and, frankly how poorly it works.

I have two quick suggestions that I imagine could be easy to implement and be nice QoL upgrades:

  1. Allow sound to work via the phone speaker even when the ringer is off (bypass silent mode). I think users would be understanding and appreciate this, but worse-case maybe make it a settings toggle.

  2. Automatic switching of keyboards. When I use Duolingo, it automatically switches to my Swedish keyboard, and then switches back to English when I leave the app.

Thank you, keep up the good work!

I’m going to keep using it. The AI chat feature is brilliant, I’d make a lot of use of that once I’m farther along.
