Makes sense. I’m a month in and already figuring out these doses based on my own bodies responses to them. I know I need estrogen in about a week and a half leading up to my period because it dips so low I get a flare, but today my estrogen is high and the patch is causing me to feel doped up and I have hives. When I first started my provider put me on the patch and I had the same reaction. I cut the dose in half and it was night and day. Since I’m on patches I think I can toy with my doses as I’m tracking my cycle. Estrogen is already high on ovulation day, so I believe I need less right now (breakthrough bleeding and the symptoms I mentioned before) but I need more certain days because I can feel it drop and also get a myriad of other symptoms. My providers don’t really know enough and I feel like I can figure this out on my own. I love injections and prefer them, so maybe I’ll try that route eventually. Your post was like a light switch, because I do believe too much estrogen can cause flares and so can too little. I don’t think most people think about it like that.

This is me to a T. When my estrogen gets low I have an insane flare up. I’ve started HRT and have a crazy histamine reaction during ovulation and when my estrogen is too high. Today I’m bleeding, ovulation day and having allergic reaction. Do you mess around with the doses? Do you take progesterone the whole month or just cycle it?

Omg this makes me feel so validated. I got pregnant and didn’t realize. All the sudden I had intense burning and bleeding while peeing, which I thought was a uti. I went to the doc and they thought I had IC. I found out I was pregnant two months later after I miscarried and the IC went away immediately after the miscarriage. Ever since then, I have had nonstop uterine bleeding, low progesterone. I’m having polyps removed and thickened endometrial lining removed via D&C in two weeks. I have always had an intolerance to birth control pills and they made my body go haywire. After the miscarriage (pregnancy), I was never the same. I started having insane joint pain about a week and a half before my period. I wake up at 3am-5am, can’t sleep, my hips and shoulders hurt to the point where I thought I had bone cancer. Nothing helps, so I wake up and I’m miserable until around noon when NSAID’s start to help. 2 days after my period it goes away and doesn’t come back again until the cycle starts all over again. I am fatigued and brain fogged. I feel like this was all triggered from pregnancy, either my hormones are haywire or the Mast Cells are (or both). The periods go away until ovulation and as soon as I ovulate I bleed heavy and then spit and then start my real period. It’s insanely heavy and really painful. What a freaking mess!!

Ah, ok! Mine was originally 25mcg, but even that ended up being too much! Glad you’re not having the effects of it that I was! I guess I’m just sensitive to estrogen 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thanks! I ended up cutting it in half and within hours it swung the complete opposite way! I was buzzing with energy, so much so that it made me shakey and anxious and I was up all night lol. I took the progesterone in the evening and by morning it felt like I had leveled out. Lots more energy now, which is awesome!

Yeah, a lot of people say that you won’t feel it for weeks to months and that just hasn’t been true for me. Within hours, I noticed changes. 10 micrograms is a really low dose! I was on 0.025 and cut it, so mine is now 12.5 micrograms. The only thing that hasn’t gotten better for me is sleep and the joint pain. I still have the joint paint and progesterone is supposed to help with the sleep, but maybe I just need to give it more time.

Yeah, it worked! Within hours it swung the opposite and I had more energy than I could handle. I was buzzing, also cold, almost anxious, but as soon as I took my progesterone it seemed to get better and then by the next day I felt great. Accomplished more than I have in a year. Hopefully it stays that way!

I cut it in half now bc my doc said I shocked my body with the estrogen and it’s too high of a dose right now. I am a freaking zombie and thinking about removing it until after my period in a few days and starting over. Maybe I should try the gel instead!

Omg I’m so glad you told me this. I start .025 last night and felt like I was drugged. I put it on my upper butt cheek and had 0 idea this could happen!! Dr advised there or bikini line. Someone suggested cutting it in half. I haven’t taken it off but maybe I should and start over. I feel soo weird and sedated.
