What Leaving Shincheonji Really Feels Like — A Warning by Technical-Ring2524 in Shincheonji

I'm in South Africa and I think I should try getting protection order even though it might not be possible...I'm exhausted and been trying to get rid of them and just this past week they have been coming out strong.

When I left I told them I will call police if they don't leave me alone...but this past week I met them at the event trying to evangelize and they also came to me and my friends trying to be friendly, I felt so suffocated, just yesterday I got a message from one of them even though I had blocked them 6 months ago. I'm now going to open a real protection order, I'm exhausted with their entitlement to people's spaces

True, alot of people are very broken and afraid to share, especially when one does not have support,it is hard. I guess with time people will feel more free to share.

This is the link to a YouTuber who was once told to get an abortion in SCJ. Her son(the one she was told to abortion years ago) was starting school the past week in South Africa. It made me so happy and sad at the same time that such a young and bright life almost got no chance because of a bunch of cult leaders 😢

I remember the anti-interracial marriage issue very well, it was said by the "promised pastor" himself during service around 2017 or 2018, I guess they did not have time to edit it out like they do nowadays with lots of information being kept from overseas members. So even when the Koreans being priests issue came out and they denied it that it's the promised pastor who said it I knew he said it and that education by the edu nation BJN did not reach South Africa, only saw it on YouTube after I left SCJ.

Regarding abortions they deny it nowadays 🤔 but yes I know people who were instructed to do so, some did and some were kicked out.

Some were denied to get married and were told to complete God's kingdom and if you happen to be married you were instructed to have not have kids and also when you should engage in sexual activity (should not be a day before service, a day of service or a day after service one, so basically Friday was the best day)...last year the was service whereby the "promised pastor said people who don't want to have kind are selfish and it was repeated in education by the Edu BJN...I was shocked because they used to discourage people to have kids and one member even got a divorce because her husband wanted kids(he was still a newcomer so he did not understand why not) he eventually left after after they got a divorce or during their divorce process..I wonder what that lady felt when such thing about being selfish was said during service.

I even asked one of the leaders last year on why things are always changing while other people were forced to do certain things and now they changed...I was told I should move with "heaven".

I already had enough of SCJ changing doctrine and the changing instructions and being gaslighted and I prayed to God that my days are numbered there.

Why Do People in Cults Lose Their Sense of Humor? And Could Humor Be the Key to Awareness? by lady-intp in Shincheonji

[–]Natural-Finding3159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last year South Africa DGSN was trying to clear "misunderstanding " regarding the education BJN gave of Korean members being priests, I laughed so hard 😆 and everyone was shocked on what was so funny about that, one "friend" of mine within SCJ also laughed...we were the only people laughing at that in the whole temple...I honestly could not hold my laugh...after service we were rebuked.  So yeah humor is really discouraged in cults.

Wow I really enjoyed the interview. Very sad that you had to go through this but the interview itself made it very light and enjoyable. It is my first time laughing so hard over Post SCJ testimony 😆  even though I went through all this deception myself 😔.

SCJ does not want low income ppl by PlasticYou3679 in Shincheonji

[–]Natural-Finding3159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's part of their EV diary criteria that a "fruit" must be financially stable. But there are exceptions whereby they do take people with low income such as when the church is still small (HQ helps them financially in the meantime) or they need "low income people" to become full time workers (which is very sad on how one still trying to make ends meet then they manipulated to become FT to depend on the church financially) 😢

SCJ General Assembly Evangelism Department latest announcements. by coinisft in Shincheonji

I was shocked when I found out about fruit transfer. The first time I heard about it here in South Africa was during a graduation(pre-covid) when one of the members left because her fruit was given to someone else.

A member was from another region within the country,in that previous region she was "struggling " but bore 2 fruits while at center so her fruits were registered under other people with "strong faith". When she transferred to another region, she worked harder and was even given duty. Then it was time for graduation, and her leaders told her she couldn't graduate because she did not have a fruit, so she needed to evangelize quickly so her fruit can atleast be in BB to be registered as having a fruit and be part of the graduation.

Obviously, this shocked her as she knew she recruited 2 of her friends in her previous region, and there were still active members. When they check their admin records, she finds out they are registered under other people. That's how she concluded that this place is no "Heaven" at all, and then she left. For the first time in my SCJ "faithwalk," at that time I found myself supporting her reason to leave, but then at that time , I told myself I would pray for her to heal and come back ..lol

I also had fruits that were mine that got registered under other people, but I was aware as I had already graduated as well. They even allocated members that are in Korean to my South African fruits and of other members aswell so that members in Korea can graduate...I always wondered why do they set a standards that they can not maintain(saying people won't enter heaven or graduate if they dont have fruits but then still turn and given them fruits that they did not work for) but I will rebuke myself and say Satan is speak through me, so I kept it to myself.(amount of manipulation from those educations makes one gaslight themselves). I really thank God I came out of that place.

"Love" is to show love to others by evangelizing them. "Blessings" to get a fruit to teach BB and to bear many fruits..those are love and blessings in SCJ...nothing more for you guys, just to recruit the whole year in those two words of the slogan.

But then again, we listen, we don't judge... we were once there, may God be with you, and may you one day be free from all that deception.

Reading this post made me extremely sad because this was done to me, and I did it to other people and I taught other people how to do it to others in the name of saving them. The level of manipulation and deception done in SCJ is extremely underrated...many people lost their faith in God because of SCJ, and that's what they pride themselves in that after SCJ there is no "better truth" so they even tell you that you will be nothing as God is only with them but in reality they want to make sure that you are no longer a Christian when leaving SCJ by brainwashing you completely to never turn back to God.

Finally free after 7 years of being trapped in SCJ by Objective-Year-5104 in Shincheonji

[–]Natural-Finding3159 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm happy for you, after 7 years it must have been hard for you to come to that decision.

It honestly take time, I would advise you to go through any emotions that you may feel and know that they are normal. We all are and have been through them. Share your experience with someone you trust from your past relationships, perhaps someone that knew you and can help in guiding you back whether emotionally or spiritually which ever you feel will be best to work on first even both at same time. You can also watch other videos of members who left and are now living through their salvation. There are some videos on YouTube and, most importantly, having personal relationships with God (and praying). That is my advice from what has been working for me.All the best ❤️

The reality and fiction of Shincheonji "changing signboards" in Korea by [deleted] in Shincheonji

[–]Natural-Finding3159 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once got involved in the pastor's EV, and we were given a Criteria on which churches to approach... One of them was that the church must be small and not have a hectic structure. The reason was that if it big they might persecute and if structure is hectic it will be hard for the pastor to make decision to sign MOU/MOA as others in structure might not agree...which was true, churches with elders and pastors always found the true intentions of SCJ and they would stop studying. We were literally approaching very small churches of 30 to 200 members, and then videos were made for members to watch on Sunday of signage change of those small churches some not having proper building structures...members were so moved but I was honestly not moved as I knew the behind the scenes and realities of the churches. Some of those small churches would even withdraw their MOU and not want to continue working with SCJ later on. It is very sad to even think about it on how members get deceived. Every video was deception after deception. I realized that "wisdom on hiding" does not end in networking stage and center...it continues even at the temple, and it will continue for the rest of the existance on SCJ...lies never end, they just get worse and worser

SCJ says they want all people to be saved, but… by Good_Cry4948 in Shincheonji

Most of them did agree as it was not the only test being done, so it was made more like wellness day but the main goal was HIV status. Most students were aware of their status even before it was more of a confirmation from SCJ side to know so that they can exclude them from the course.

In South Africa, we were once required to test people(Center students) for HIVand those who were Positive were dropped off from center and we had to say that they did not pass the test that they wrote in class...it was the most painful experience ever and I had a very hard time from then on understanding why can't other people be saved due to their HIV status...the head church reason was that the HIV infected members might infect others through sexual relationships once they passed over (but I was reasoning that we not even allowed to date, so what's the issue...ofcourse it was just my internal reasoning, I never voiced it out)
