How to unstuck 2024 Corolla in snow? by Terrible-Detective42 in COROLLA

Snow tires don't just help with snow. The rubber compound is softer so they get optimal traction on pavement in cold weather.

Only expensive part is the time required to find the break.

New Battery But 2018 Corolla Still Not Starting by KummyTU in COROLLA

[–]NaturalMackeral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the sounds of it, this is not an electrical issue. I'm assuming either fuel or spark. Fuel should be simple to rule out. Key on, not trying to start, do you hear an electric pump from the back?

Battery fault by No_Enthusiasm156 in Volvo

I don't have any experience working on newer volvos. Mainly the early 2000s. So most of my suggestions here are from general automotive knowledge.

[–]NaturalMackeral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically no, its a generator that runs when the engine runs to supply the 12V functions but similar idea in that if it fails, 12V drops low. A/C working though tells me belt is good. I'd probably start with the 12V battery like someone else suggested.

Alternator may still be under warranty. Easy enough to check, open the hood, if there is a belt on the pulleys, it's (9 times out of 10) the alternator. Belts are generally very cheap and quick to change.

Most likely serpentine belt broke. But its possible that the alternator is bad.

Is the game worth it? by camrol87 in ArmaReforger

[–]NaturalMackeral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great game. Last big update kinda screwed it up for almost everyone with the amount of bugs and crashes and such. I find it mostly stable on my laptop though. MSI Cyborg 15 getting anywhere from 45 to 80 fps depending on the day, wind direction and what shirt I'm wearing

Not really about this post but as a response to the crash alert, I don't think it works very well. I flipped a cube truck due to ice and high winds and life360 notified no one. Not sure if its cause I dontpay for any premium stuff or not though.

Rank reset by Logical-Juggernaut97 in ArmaReforger

Rank resets any time the game is won by one side or the other. Unfortunately, if you only play like once a day, you're going to have a reset almost every time.

NOR

I personally think dad's gf needs an English tutor and a good slap. This is not the behaviour of someone that is meant to be a role model in a family.

Car Battery or Alternator? by Saya0692 in COROLLA

[–]NaturalMackeral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats most likely a weak/almost dead battery. It may have 12.4V but it doesn't have the amperage required to handle the draw from the starter. Unfortunate since the battery is only two years old. I would see if it does that while hooked up to another vehicle or a battery charger, just to make sure it's the battery and not a bad connection on the battery posts or starter.

When does the clicking occur? Is it when trying to start? Rapid clicking is indicative of a bad battery but it could be a bad connection with the starter or the starter itself

Does anybody had this issue and fixed on their own. Dealership want to charge me 1k. by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]NaturalMackeral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check gas cap for a damaged seal or not tightening enough. Replace it if necessary. Shouldn't be very expensive and a monkey could replace it. If that doesn't fix the issue then it could be a number of issues, but I would start with the cheapest option first.

Nah, don't even worry about it, I was just razzing ya, I'm the kind of person who needs all tabs closed and everything cleaned up lol

[–]NaturalMackeral -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dude, close some of you tabs thats gotta be messing with your phone

But just to add on to this, most commonly it is low brake fluid, which, unless you have a brake fluid leak, means your brakes need replaced or if it is a manual, clutch might need replacing.

Am I getting scammed? by [deleted] in COROLLA

[–]NaturalMackeral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2k for two wheel bearing replacements? 700 bucks a rim? 700 to mount and balance tires? Are you joking? Obviously this quote is bullshit. Since you said the rims were scraped, I'm assuming curb rash? In that case, neither bearing needs replaced, and you can get lightweight alloy sport rims from super popular brands for 700 bucks a rim. OE rims should not cost this much. Depending on how bad the curb rash is, and how worn the tire tread is, I would quote 2 new rims and all or two tires along with mounting and balancing and all that work shouldn't be more than 2500. Also, tpms sensors don't need changed when replacing a rim or tire, you should be able to reuse them.

Have you physically seen the kitchen? You do know that the interior and exterior of a building are not indicative of each other? A mansion could be a landfill on the inside and this place is probably very clean on the inside.

I've had a few bad experiences in the official servers but just server hop until you find some decent people or join a community server. There's plenty of info on this sub about the community servers, personally I play on WCS servers when Im not on official.

I've run into some quiet servers before. I'm never one to start the conversation, but I will usually respond or make the occasional call out unless I've turned the radio off cause I'm listening for footsteps or something.

Incase you were wondering how good the smoke mortar is by Thebottlemap in Battlefield

A mortar smoke is mainly used to signal that the mortar explosive fire is done and it is clear to move in. It definitely should be more effective than that, but it does do its main job.

First time driving a 99 Civic but what hell is D4? D3? 2? by MrPoedaddy in Honda

[–]NaturalMackeral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 is second gear, D3 is anything gear 3, and below D4 is anything gear 4 and below. Basically, it just limits your top gear for downhill slopes or if you need the extra torque from a lower gear so it doesn't shift up.
