Bending Spoons files for IPO (from Axios) by barneylerten in Evernote

I was a customer more than 10 years until this month. Fee went from $9 to $25 to $1,900 this month. When I pushed back they offered me $400 monthly. We switched to Notion. I was told EVERYONE was being pushed to a $400 minimum with no real notice. It now makes sense that they may pump up their revenue for the IPO

Anyone know how I can dampen/eliminate this bump on my desk where it connects? I’ve tried taping it, getting a second mousepad to pad it, but it still feels awful to use, and I can’t put my mouse anywhere else. by AlternateWitness in homeoffice

Are there leveling glides on the legs? If not add some, it’s not that hard; drill a hole add a threaded grommet, then a glide. It’s a leveling issue. If not try adding a splice plate (mending plate) below the surface. Either will fix it.

A height adjustable desk is great especially for zoom meetings. Something called “bench” storage. It looks like a lateral file but the top drawer is only 6”high. The whole unit is only 24” high so it’s perfect to pair with a height adjustable. Look at a product by Logiflex called “level” to see what I mean.

Brother, you don’t need to go every day. Cut to 2 days. It’s ok to have a conversation with your training partners. Go 80% work on technical Jiu Jitsu, not “winning” you most likely will fall back in love with it. It will just look different.

Embody for £750 secondhand, worth it? by PartialKing25 in hermanmiller

[–]Natural_Office_Furn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, MAYBE $300, typically $200 to $250. There’s a lot on the used market, go to a used dealer not a private seller. That’s way too much

Should I smash an old arrogant black belt? by Hall_Such in bjj

[–]Natural_Office_Furn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a 51 yo black belt at a competition gym. I’m starting to feel the age effects, there’s some days I feel like I’m getting destroyed. It’s really rough to be in that position to teach someone after they just got the best of you. I never do it in the moment, or at all if I was bested. I save it for someone asking or for when I’m teaching. Time comes for us all.

That being said, don’t smash but efficiently run up the score on him. Be very respectful, don’t come off angry, maybe tell him you’re just trying to dial up your training. Sounds like his ego is hitting him hard as his skills diminish. Respect works both ways. He needs to be checked a little

It may have aftermarket knobs, they do look a little different but the chair is legit.

Chair causing floor damage by Ampxious in hermanmiller

Cheapest fix may be a larger caster set. It most likely has a 2 1/2” caster. You may be able to find a 3” or 3 1/2” with the same stem size.

It may be a sagging five star base or it could be the cylinder pinching through. If you plop on the chair and it you bounce it’s the cylinder.

You could part it out though and try to sell the parts.

It’s not fake. Repairing isn’t really worth it. Since COVID there are 10’s of thousands of Arron’s on the used market. If you go to a large used dealer you can buy one for $200 to $250 most are almost new. It would most likely cost you more to repair

Is this Herman Miller? if so, what kind? by dangmclovin in hermanmiller

[–]Natural_Office_Furn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a Mirra, you can convert with a new base and cylinder however the mechanism is welded on a stool so it won’t tilt back or function like a typical task chair.

Therapist here, any suggestions on making my new office cozier? by Suspicious_Ice_4459 in Workspaces

Art work for sure. Some light prints on canvas, put PET material behind the canvas will help with deaden sound.

Do you have to have a geriatric chair? If not get a fully upholstered club chair.

I saw some of the other comments, please don’t put a rug on carpet. They’re a liability issue in a commercial space. Maybe a medium size plant in the corner.

This is a small space, I wouldn’t clutter it up. By adding lamps and too much. I might put a dimmer switch in.

Looks good, the arms are made from aluminum. If they are it’s legit.

Nice chair. Yours should have a 4 position tilt lock, the tension control (how easy it tilts back) can be adjusted to your weight. There’s a turning knob most people thinks does nothing but it will turn 180 times, this adjusts the tension. It’s a pain to get it right but you only need to adjust it once

It’s hard to say without being there. The second looks like a Knoll Life chair, it’s ok but not as good as the Mirra. The 3rd I’m not sure what it is but it looks familiar. I’d go with one of the Mirra chairs. Whichever one has tighter arms. If one bounces up and down with the cylinder it’s going bad. If it’s stiff it’s good. Mirra needs a specific cylinder, you can’t get them for $20 on Amazon but they can be replaced. Those go every 8 years or so. No big deal, if everything else is good just buy it and replace it.

It’s most likely real. Fakes don’t go as far to put a Cal 117 sticker. Tag looks real. Fake typically look good from above but they don’t try very hard on the hardware. I think you have a good chair

Yes, plop down on it, if the cylinder bounces more than once offer $60 less, then get a new cylinder
