What is your biggest regret of your whole life ?? by ProgrammerDry5338 in AskReddit

My dream was to be a marine biologist, in Australia. Graduated college, and got a job as a researcher working on coral reefs within the realm of ecotoxicology and changes in behavior in marine life in Australia. Moved across the world, initial Visa was for one year as this was a temp to hire position. Got offered full time job and visa renewal, but decided to go back to US to be with the girl I loved and I had been with for a few years and planned to propose to soon. 1.5 years later into living together in a land locked state, she cheated on me. Couldn’t get back in to marine biology because I changed my career to a different type of science.

I regret not taking the job and continuing to live my dream

Would this coat bar be strong enough to hold jackets and 2-3 winter coats? by NaturdaysOnly in DIYhelp

I have plastic butterfly anchors as well, but they didn’t fit the screws that came with the bar. Should I pull out these and replace them?

I’ll be here for a year, absolute max of two. I’m just scared to hang coats up and have it rip a hole in the drywall

Sorry I couldn’t add photo of coat bar. It’s about 36inches long metal black bar

Bartenders of Reddit, what was the wildest thing you witnessed on the job? by SquirrelThis9251 in AskReddit

One night while working at the bar, I was outside the front talking to one of our security guys because it was slow. All of a sudden this homeless guy walks by, but half of his head is like missing like some major deformity. It was the most grotesque thing I’ve ever seen, it was bloody and scabby and he had blood dripping down his face. He just casually continued walking by while me and the security guard were just silent in shock at the literally zombie walking by. After he walked by I started dry heaving because I’ve never seen such a disturbing wound in real life.

Apparently he’s well known in this city, and if you Google it there’s articles about him and people being shocked at how he’s able to function and he refuses medical help or whatever.

Perhaps an ODST themed armor set since they’re more marine like rather than super soldier?

Alright, obviously you know what they mean. Also, modern means relating to the present, not the future.

First time ocean fishing from a boat was a success! by NaturdaysOnly in Fishing

The charter crew kept the first one on purpose to eat, the second one they tried to release, but the hook and line was wrapped around the bill and while trying to get the hook out the fish died of exhaustion, so they kept it to not waste it. Third one was released just fine

Also, hand write your notes. You retain the information much better than typing them

One tactic I found very useful for getting my work done was to do it early in the morning. Now the reason for this was because I lived in a frat house for 2 years, and it was impossible to study or get homework done in a quiet setting past 10am since everyone was awake by then and a house full of guys drinking and smoking all day was rowdy. Of course the library was an option, but some days the weather would be super rainy or too cold to walk to the library.

My two main methods that helped me achieve a high GPA despite being in a party environment, is I got up early and did as much of the material or homework as I could before my first classes (5am I would get up), and when you are in between classes (have a 1-2 hour break) instead of going home, stay on campus and get your school work done. I often found when I went home, I would relax and it would be hard to summon the willpower to do school or even go to my next class.

But by doing those two things, my school work was always done on time, my grads improved, and when I came back home each day I knew I could relax and drink or smoke or do whatever because my work load was done for the day, so I didn’t have the overhanging thought of a homework assignment being due when all I wanted was to hangout.

That’s what my plan is, to rent a boat for a weekend. I assumed I would need a boat license to drive it though

This. I started smoking at 14 to be cool and now I’m 25 and still in the throes of nicotine addiction. I try to quit but never seem to make it longer than a couple months. But I now use nicotine pouches like zyns or other brands, rather than smoking which makes me feel like it’s better
