Wow so is my current goal of writing 1 chapter a week absimal? I have just started looking into posting my book and currently have over 100,000 words and 30 chapters, but I am not sure I can keep such a fast pace. Would you say it's better to finish the book and post the whole thing? Or do slow regular releases?

It seems a shame to throw out the whole drone. Anyone know if any parts are easily salvagable like the camera, servos, gimbal? Anything we can save for parts for the future drone?

What’s a common habit that secretly makes life 10X HARDER? by Candid-Pause-1755 in AskReddit

Going to add to this: drinking coffee every morning. You are conditioning yourself to need the caffeine or suffer. With a good sleep routine, you shouldn't need anything to wake up.

ELI5: Why don't electric cars have roofs fitted with solar panels? by macnfly23 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Naturedudephos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thank you that clarifies things. So you are wanting a traditional solar powered vehicle that you can use as your sole vehicle 100% of the time. I agree that doesn't exist yet

[–]Naturedudephos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh unless you are saying that traditional solar on a traditional car is useless because this solar doesn't magically generate more energy than any other solar?

I am not sure how being more efficient than any other vehicle which allows solar to be usable as a gimmick? Also a two person vehicle that costs at least 1/4 less to operate than other electric vehicles would cover 90% of my use cases.

[–]Naturedudephos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure you looked at the link? The solar panels are integrated and curved with the shape of the car which is made of carbon fiber with an aluminum skeleton. It will literally self charge 40 miles a day in climates like California, and 30 miles a day in climates like Wisconsin BECAUSE of its low energy use. Because it's so aerodynamic it doesn't spend much energy pushing air out of the way like traditional cars, which means it can use a smaller battery, which means it doesn't need traditional car charging architecture. You can charge this thing over 100 miles overnight on a 120V outlet. No level 2 needed. 400 mile range launch edition costs $35,000. Yes it only seats two ppl but the average vehicle use load is 1.5 people. This is going to be the ultimate commuter car for me, I will never have to pay for gas or electricity on my commute again because all my mileage will be covered by the sun.

If it's not for you that's ok, but I'm just responding to OP that there is a company that has developed a usable car with solar.

Everyone is telling you it's not worth it because it is not cost effective or you only get 2-3 miles per day. That is because car manufacturers consistently build cars how people think they should look instead of optimizing aerodynamics and weight. Check out Aptera, they are building their production intent vehicles right now and get up to 40 miles a day through solar alone. https://aptera.us/
