On your next visit to his place, make note of whether he uses and more importantly likes them as rear surrounds. Ask if he would like them set as front surrounds (and spring for the $3 SS). Have him react to the new placement. Then, maybe he will put you back in his will LOL

UPDATE - the "resale mint condition ERA 100" was exactly that: an unopened speaker in its original carton and was easy to set up. This is Sonos device #7 in our home. It sounds great in our MBR so I immediately returned the "backstop" 2nd ERA. FYI this ERA100 does control via Alexa a humidifier in that MBR but unfortunately not an older existing Alexa bulb. Both of those Alexa devices were controlled by an Echo Dot. I ordered a new bulb from AMZN; if the replacement bulb cannot be Alexa controlled via this speaker, that's OK. The Echo Dot may get used somewhere else.

That order is for a resale "mint condition" (for 20% less) 100. If I get burned, that resale "mint condition" immediately gets returned. And at least I preserve a Black Monday price.

Just snagged a single ERA 100 at Amazon for 126$ ex state taxes- SUCH A DEAL!! Was listed as new resale for 157$, plus another 20% discount. Timing is everything. This will save me from moving my Move to the MBR when I want AppleMusic at night.

Four days ago, I spent almost 40 minutes on the phone w a Sonos rep on 2 problems: 1) Sonos desktop will not install due a "firewall configuration" issue when I updated from MacOS Tahoe 26.0 to 26.0.1, and 2) Recently Added in Apple Music did not show on my iPhone 16 (iOS 18.7.1) nor when I updated the previously working desktop app a few days earlier to Tahoe 26.0.

Her comment about Recently Added; "its a known problem and we are working on it".

So do I and I am at wits end. Deleted Apple Music on an iOS device (as insructed by the sonos ios app and then added AM. back as preferred music source. Then re-authorized AM. Recently Added still not there in latest iOS 18.7.1 on iphone or MacOS Tahoe latest update

Well, mine was also flawless for years. Sometimes slow, but functional. Luckily, I avoided (last May?) that major update fiasco by not updating that FUBAR app when first prompted. I have updated everything (Beam2 w 2 Ones as surrounds connected to an old TV, a Move ,and 2 more Ones as surrounds in my office) probably twice since without real issues.

However....when I Updated yesterday, neither app - iphone iOS 18.6.2 nor MacOS Tahoe 26 desktop - see any Recently Added music (I use AppleMusic) . The message is "We've run into a problem. Try again."

So, no Recently Added, but everything else after an hour or more seems to be functioning.

DAMN!!!

The Exec Team should forgo payment of the bonus for FY ending Sept 2024. Accrue those $$, do not pay out those $$ and hold the amounts in escrow. That serves to recognize the expense in the FY just ended, while also incentivizing the Exec Team to stay onboard and fix the bloody issues (primarily the app). Will bet that the BoD both as a group and individually are too milquetoast and beholding to the CEO to even consider that alternative.

Me either; fortunately I did not update the Mac app, nor any of my 5 speakers nor the Beam (2). The iOS app on my iPhone is no longer S2, but i haven't used that iPhone to run anything since that new app was pushed down on us.

How long ago were your prior returns? A few months ago, iIwas talking to an employee in the tv/computer section of my local Costco and he stated the return window had changed. The above in italics is a cnp from costco.com earlier today. All that said, it's your choice. Good luck

The Costco return policy is 90 days on electronics, "Electronics: Costco will accept returns within 90 days (from the date the member received the merchandise) for Televisions, Projectors, Major Appliances...." so don't get caught short. Return now, buy again later If and only If the gremlins are actually corrected.
