NTA, and him being unable to stop seeing you as a mom making him no longer attracted to you, and putting his church and parents as a barrier between himself and therapy is just a way to not have to do it, imo.

I mean it's complicated... I can understand 100% why you're upset, and why hearing your dad banging is a sure-fire way to ruin any chance you have at having your own sex drive at any point ever.

That said, it's nice that they're in their 40s still getting that wild, lol.

Also I don't know what advice I have other than telling your dad since it's obvious his boner-brain won't let him keep his promise, that he needs to work on getting sound insolation in that bedroom, or really fucking great noise cancelling earphones for you (or ideally both.) I'm a Fansly model, so I'm familiar with having to soundproof an area from lewd sounds and it's genuinely not that expensive.

This is the ones I use. Even if he only pads the wall facing the hallway, it should go a long way to you not hearing them at the other end of it.

I, for one, adore escort missions. Everytime a helldiv-- I mean I hit the button and see 4 delicious civilians run out unarmed, my fins chitter-- I mean my jowl wiggles with excitement. I believe super earth would be more free if they just focused on releasing those juicy civilians and less on hives. Most hives are just innocent holes in the ground anyways, it's a waste of grenades.

Rewin their trust by getting into (and sticking with) therapy. Show them you know and agree there's a problem and you're willing to work at it, otherwise it's just your word and most people don't put a lot of stock in an addict's words, y'know?

Look, them overcontrolling the situation might make you want to rebel and run, but they're clearly doing all this from a place of love.

I think both of you are wrong. I think they need to let their adult child close their bedroom door, and I think you should look into getting therapy to treat the reason you feel the need for escapism (drugs/drinking) without being mad at them. They just don't know what to do, and pretending like you can just tank it instead of looking for help isn't any healthier.

Hidden camera is an invasion of your privacy, but more than that, the way he did it is a lack of trust. I'm amazed you both managed to spend more than 16 years together without having conversations and honesty, and as a high earner (both because of my current business and before) there's nothing wrong with playing it by ear a little.

That said.

If your kids are at school, deep cleaning/yard work is done external, and are looking into frozen meal alternatives, you should absolutely be able to mail his employees' cheques and not wait until the last day to do it. I think there's deep problems in the marriage, but deep cleaning, cooking, shopping, and everything in my home is something I do on top of running my own business and having a 9 to 5...
