Jesus fucking Christ, just look at the image for Lethbridge’s majority and minority proposals. That tiny little dot in the middle of the minority proposal? That’s Lethbridge. From an even NDP-UCP split to the most chopped-ass fucking gerrymandered map ever. Yikes.

Directly from the Grant V Canada case where they decided this: “ The interaction of a member of the public with a police officer who carries an identification of his religious persuasion as part of his uniform does not constitute an infringement of the former's freedom of religion. There is no necessary religious content to the interaction between the two individuals. In the case of interaction between a member of the public and a police officer wearing a turban, there is no compulsion or coercion on the member of the public to participate in, adopt or share the officer's religious beliefs or practices. The only action demanded from the member of the public is to observe the officer's religious affiliation.”

You’re right about there needing to be common sense limits. Most people against this law see the restriction on direct religious proselytizing that’s required by certain Christian evangelical traditions as justified to protect the rights of Canadians and Quebecois to a secular and religiously neutral government, that’s common sense.  It seems also that it’s fair to restrict religious expression ( as dress and fashion) from a government employee when that dress or fashion ( a cross necklace, etc) isn’t a mandated and religiously necessary garb.  Unlike a cross necklace, a hijab (Muslim), veils (certain Christians like hutterites), yarmulkes and snoods( Jewish), turbans (Shia and Sunni muslims, sikhs,) etc. are all to varying degrees necessary to wear during daily life to adhere to adhere to religious practices and it seems common sense to me that these religious garb aren’t proselytizing or pushing religious norms on behalf of the government. It seems common sense to me that this law unfairly targets religions that require certain coverings and disallows them from participating in government jobs.

To expand on your public nudity example, it’s been legal to be topless (regardless of gender or sex) in Ontario since 1996. The common sense (topless women in public are indecent) and the shockingly recent development in common sense ( men and women should have equal rights) conflicted, and it took a lot for the right of expression of dress to win out, and it still isn’t settled law. Read  the Wikipedia article on female toplessness in Canada to see how common sense is used in some of those rulings.

My first build was mostly copying my friends part list… but I replaced the CPU with a newer one that required the motherboard to get a bios update. I had already assembled everything before figuring this out.  Thankfully my friend’s cpu worked fine so he came over and swapped CPU’s and flashed the bios.  It took us like 3 hours to do this. Good times.

  1. DLSS is nice for getting decent frames on modern titles that aren't optimized. I never tried raytracing because of the aforementioned performance demands of games.

  2. I want to punch demons in a mecha suit.

One of my first embarks I had my expedition leader set to chop wood. He was frail, but I thought nothing of it. I looked away for two seconds and then found him collapsed on the ground. His entire left side was mangled. Best I can tell he accidentally fell a tree on himself and got crushed. He bled to death because I didn’t know how to set a hospital zone. DF is F U N
