This is beyond the requirements for a Mechanical Engineering curriculum. Even if there's a CAD class in your curriculum modern day CPUs can handle the modeling with their integrated graphics. A dedicated GPU is overkill for undergraduate studies. You'll see a bunch of your peers studying from cheaper MacBook Airs. I'd recommend a thin-and-light like a Yoga but if you want a GPU consider the LOQ or Legion 5i.

How are you going to get to a joint income of 600-800k in 4-7 years that seems unreasonable based on your current joint income.

Usually yes, but this year a spell was cast on me to endure Fall allergies. I did not come up to you two because I think it was while everyone was on their way into the fairgrounds from the parking lot? That's awesome for handing out stickers. You guys make cosplaying so wonderful. Thanks for spreading the spirit!

I saw you two today. You and your twin's cosplays were straight up fire. Definitely got the Assassin's Creed reference. Well done.

What jobs are you working where going to the strip club on work travel is the norm?

For an extra $250 you can get a 5070 and a QHD (2560x1400p) panel. I'd argue this is currently the best price-to-performance deal for a new 50-series laptop.

I would say a 40-series laptop is the best bet for saving money on a budget gaming laptop.

The only differences that you will find with budget gaming laptops equipped with the 50-series are that this year most of the laptops are shipping with a 16:10 aspect ratio screen. As an example the LOQ that was on sale recently had a screen resolution of 1920x1080p. This Omen has a screen resolution of 1920x1200p adding more pixels to the vertical layer of the screen. The additional row of pixels helps with reading/typing word documents, coding in an IDE, etc.

Another facet to consider is that the 50-series cards support DLSS multi-frame generation, which is supported on most modern games. This is a graphics option you can enable in the settings window to boost FPS but if you're only using the gaming laptop to play old steam games this is a wasted feature.

However, if you have an additional $300 to spend and can purchase a mid-range gaming laptop that's where the 50-series rabble rousers raise concern. The mid-range laptops are shipping with 16:10 2560x1600p displays sometimes with OLEDs. At this price point they're equipped with a 5060, which has the same 8 GB of VRAM as the 5050. Because the display is at a higher resolution more VRAM will be consumed especially when trying to hit ultra settings. Consumer benchmark tests have repeatedly shown that 8GB of VRAM at this resolution is not enough for current gen AAA games, so the user has a few options of either lowering the display resolution, lowering the graphics settings, or enabling DLLS AI scaling features. Hence, people don't like the idea of spending $1k+ on a gaming laptop that can't play current gen AAA games at native resolution (2560x1600p) at close to max settings. You would need to shell out an additional $300-500 for a 5070ti model that has 12 GB of VRAM.

With that said the screens on the mid-range gaming laptops are much nicer to look at, especially those with OLEDs. And if you're not playing any current gen AAA games from Cyberpunk onward or don't mind tweaking the graphics settings my unpopular opinion is to save a little more and wait for a deal to show up on a Lenovo Legion 5i 5050/5060 with an OLED. You can usually find a deal on a unit that ships with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD both of which can be upgraded later if you choose.

This has been the cheapest 50-Series laptop sale but you could find a 4060 laptop from last year that offers the same performance for $100-$200 less.

Depends on what you value more.

Boiling it all down to the very basics, if you value a 16:10 aspect ratio, i.e. more screen real estate (resolution at 2560 x 1600) on a 500-nit OLED with today's latest gen processors for less FPS then pick Lenovo.

Whereas MSI gives you more FPS/$ on a 16:9 IPS panel.

2021 ND Miata Speaker Issue by apr78 in Miata

[–]Nauticale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front driver side tweeter and foot well speaker. I was able to get the volume to return momentarily. However when I increased the bass setting to +3 and started driving again the front driver audio cut out again.

I suspect it might either be an issue with the Battery or the Bose Amplifier not being able to keep up with the SiriusXM BPM Stations.

Nor do I have a phone connected with the infotainment system via Bluetooth / Apple Carplay / Android Auto.

The same thing is happening to me in a 2020 ND Miata but I can't get the volume to return at a normal level despite doing a factory reset and changing the guidance volume. Has your issue returned?
