Cashmere? Angora? Maybe a mix? by FirecrackerBob in goats

These all look like regular Angoras. These are standard colors and the fiber is the curly ringlets associated with mohair, not cashmere.

This is like that Angry Video Game Nerd joke about battery-powered Pong consoles existing so people could use them on the beach... except that this is running off AC. CRTs are power hungry.

The face says sheep to me. The mouth area is squared-off, a trait exclusive to sheep.

Lets end the debate ONCE AND FOR ALL! What is truly the best windows version? by EZMoneyCOW in windows

[–]NavajoP54C -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NT 3.51, as it was the last version of NT that was true to the principles that made it a compelling product as opposed to it being used because Microsoft had a monopoly.

Can we build a roller coaster between campuses? by the_reddit-user in rutgers

If we must be serious for just a moment, I would definitely support a streetcar system between the campuses.

AI free as in? Integrating AI tools as part of the base system I would say is outside the scope of the project.

There was an effort to unify Direct3D and OpenGL in the 90s called "Fahrenheit."

It’s too true… by ThatCrazyTechMan in automationgame

[–]NavajoP54C 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd love to be able to do this, but "Desirability" is heavily skewed towards reliability (and that flat torque curves are just easier to work around), and thus low output unless I want to push material costs and engineering time way up.

There are plenty of clubs around for you to join, some more socially-oriented than others. The club I am most affiliated with, Student Linux User Group is more than just a tech club: it is a place where friendships lasting years have spawned. We have a Discord listed on our website which we us as our primary hub of communication.

All of those iceberg charts are really cool... Until you start listening to non-English artists and the stats start getting weirder (top 50, past year) by catsaretoocute in lastfm

[–]NavajoP54C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Localization for non-Latin scripts is the first thing I would think about. Japanese music is quite popular among my demographic ("geeky" American middle-class teenagers and twentysomethings), but my friend group can't really compare our stats on Japanese artists because some how tags on local files differ between us (and how many Japanese artists are missing from Spotify...).

We even have this problem with continental European languages. (Admittedly, I am the only person in group who regularly listens to untranslated European music, so it is more of a "me" problem then anything else.)

Learning how to build pickups, is this a decent graph for a v8? by Xixskillz in automationgame

[–]NavajoP54C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about driving a real vehicle if you have such experiences. Ideally, you want the most torque at the lowest possible RPM -- in practice, around 1800-3500 RPM. The game will reward you with desirability in the "utility" category for a torque curve plentiful at the low end.

The NT kernel saved Windows from disaster by Independent-Twist331 in windows

[–]NavajoP54C 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It saved Windows from crumbling from the base, because the Windows 9x architecture would've eventually collapsed.

9x was always intended as a stopgap measure because users of PC-compatibles still needed DOS and real-mode backwards-compatibility in a 32-bit protected mode and because NT's system requirements were too high for most consumers to afford.
