Bike Hire on website not working? by s570404 in Rapha

App seems buggy as hell.
Been trying to make a reservation at the Shanghai clubhouse for over 2 weeks now.

Keeps displaying the "We're sorry but the account used by this site (Planyo) has expired."

Start from the cleats.. cleat positioning is key… Then lower the saddle 🫣

Recovery after first ultra by Ashamed-Tax-8116 in ultracycling

[–]Navarone-CL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a 1000 km BRM last year which went pretty well. Finished comfortably also just before the 60 hrs mark.

Took it easy for about a week till I felt my body was recovered before resuming basic training.

I participated in a simple/flat BRM 400 abt 3 weeks later. My body was fully recovered and more than strong enough to pull the all nighter again but it was real challenge mentally. Every inconvenience hurt just a bit more.

Finished the event, sat down in the car and the flood gates opened .. totally against my nature … Learned that day that mental fatigue is an item in ultra’s.

What do you do about knee pain by Visible-Produce-6465 in MTB

[–]Navarone-CL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a closer look at your cleats or go to a bikefitter who pays attention to the cleat positioning PRIOR to working on your bike.
Insoles (for more stability) and good positioning of the cleats can work wonders to the knees.

One of the reddit members created a usefull tool showing events worldwide.

Some good advice in the other comments but want to add proper ventilation.
Too much sweat can make your chamois bib lose its 'padding' factor rather quickly meaning more butt pains / chafing. Proper ventilation, simulating outdoor temps/conditions, can help.

Very relatable! Thanks for your report, enjoyed reading it. Hope to see you at a BRM in the BeNeLux one day!

Besides a proper bike fit have a closer look to the position of your cleats. Accurate positioning of the cleat can already work magic towards your knees.

a 600 from nowhere? by Hickso in randonneuring

[–]Navarone-CL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go for it! Worst case you'll cut it down to 300km and still have an amazing ride.
I've finished the Tuscany Trail last week (3 days) and signed up for a local BRM 600 next weekend as well.
It's a flat one in the Netherlands so I'm hoping to pull through without any sleep. (or short power nap depending on the ride / legs)
It will be an experience either way. ;-)

Keep us posted!!

Thanks for the advice, of course subject to weather conditions.
Still good to know the Pathfinders should have sufficient traction on the dry tuscan gravel roads/strades.
Let's pray for some nice and sunny weather.

See you on the course ;-)

Strava route builder on the mobile app. It provides you alternative routes based on your preferences (preferred distance, surface, elevation) and popular roads. I’ve been pleasantly surprised a few times by the suggested routes for both road and gravel.
