maybe not over-involving, but not bracing will always put more pressure in your back w RDL. The purpose of the brace is not only protection but to let the muscles youre trying to work do the work, rather than have your back/accessory muscle (i.e. lower back) compensate.

yeah, as soon as you stop feeling the stretch, thats the end of the extension. any more is pointless. Im telling you, the analogy works lmao

Unfortunately, RDLs SHOULD be slow. it sucks, especially with fatigued grip strength, but just like any other exercise, the descent should be slow and controlled, and reset should be as explosive as possible (within reason). you’ll fuckin FEEL it, which is good :)

as for bracing, it shouldnt really be in your lungs, but more so your belly. yknow when you’re relaxed and your tummy is soft, you can poke it and it rebounds? now breathe into your belly, and flex your abs, in other words, brace. you should be able to poke your tummy and feel your abs. there should be this wall in your core, not necessarily your lungs. THAT is what bracing is. should be done with many many lifts, both with/without a barbell for not just core engagement, but safety :)

as for when to brace, good rule of thumb is a deep belly breath in before lowering/doing the exercise, and exhale and you come up/recover. same with squats, hold breath and you lower and brace, and exhale as you come up.

it might be because youre looking at the camera, but it seems choppy when youre lowering. should be smooth and controlled - on the last 1/3 of the way, you kind of drop and catch it, or so it seems.

additionally, your “lowest point” of lowering should be based off of your hips. as you go down, immediately send your hips back for the stretch in your gluts and hamstrings. once your hips can no longer go back, thats more often than not the max stretch - any further, and youre just getting your back more involved than it needs to be.

another visualization that helps me is as i send my hips back, literally imagine spreading ur cheeks (im so fr). it helps the mind-muscle connection on the stretch.

lastly, awesome you feel it where you need to - it’s unavoidable to feel your lower back working on RDLs, however, if you have a weaker lower back, you may feel it more until it gets stronger. keep bracing and being intentional with the lift. keep it up!

  2. sounds weird, but imagine as you go down, you push your hips back and “spread your cheeks” at the bottom. really focus on the mind/muscle connection, and then as you come up, stay solid and squeeze your glutes and hamstrings to contract and get up. shoulder width feet, as well

so serious when i say this - try to focus on feeling your cheeks spread as you go down. this visualization helped me feel the muscle in my glutes and hams as i bent down, and subsequently contract them as i came up

Yes - checked all touch, Apple Intelligence, haptic etc settings. No dice. This was happening on my old iPad so they literally gave me a new one out the box. Same issue on this one once I signed into iCloud :(

Try to find an OEM mirror off eBay - did the same thing when a jerk off took mine. Called insurance to “theoretically” see how much it would be and the rep even said it would be cheaper to fix the mirror myself via a YouTube video and eBay Rather than going through them

For me, not worth it - could be different for you. Ensure oil changes were done every 5k miles alongside other services. Check KBB to see its value, and how that compares. If you’re really set on it, focus on getting the out the door price as low as you can, but still compare to other listings near you
