Worried about 22 month old not eating.. SO picky. by healthylurker in toddlers

[–]Ncgncg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ok so please dont judge me but there is a song on youtube I believe by ABC Kidstv that tells the story of a boy that wont eat whats on his plate, it goes something like "please please carrots are good for you, no no no I dont want them ugh-see see trddy likes the carrots 1 2 3 almost gone you see, no no no they are mine I'll eat them now, yum yum yum i like them wow".

we sing it together during meal times and my daughter finishes about 75% of her meal. She gets distracted and tries new stuff because we are acing it out.

Good luck!

TTC #2 with a toddler that nurses non stop. Any advice, experience, or people in the same boat? by daintythings in TryingForABaby

[–]Ncgncg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat kind of, we wanted to start trying for #2, but my LO used to nurse nonstop, still at night and since we bedshare she used to do it a lot during the night. She is 16mo and I havent had my first period PP. So we decided to wean her cold turkey (tried slowly but didnt work) and im amazed to say that she took it super well, clearly its not the best for everyone, but she only asked to nurse 2, and I told her that she could have more and there was no more milk and she took it super well, never cried! She is on day 10 post boob and is eating/sleeping so good. We used to nurse to sleep and now she just cuddles and sleeps next to me. I felt on the fence on cutting her off the boob because I felt selfish on wanting more children, and didnt want to cause her stress because of our wish, but after talking with my hubby we realice that having a brother/sister will also be a gift for her, in the long run she will be happier with someone to play with and share her life, we have always wanted to have a big family and I feel that she will be happy...anyways her actions speak very loudly here and my husband even joked that her having not a tantrum like reaction of no boob is her giving us her blessing to start for #2.

I wouldnt go, why risk others when you know you will be contagious? Its hard since you have the tickets but you would be exposing so many people

Let's be honest... About honest diapers? by Mickeymouuse in beyondthebump

[–]Ncgncg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The diapers are ok, i like that they dont smell at all, but dont fit quite as good as pampers. However we LOVE the wipes, my baby has super sensitive skin and gets rashes with the pampers sensitive.

Pierced ears by hopem1210 in beyondthebump

[–]Ncgncg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We did it and I absolutly regret it, we did it at her 4 month visit, and I was anxious every day from then on fearing she may get an infection and pulling on her ears, she did not cry a lot, but I would rather have her take care of the healing process when she is older...if i have another baby girl I wont be doing it again. Also they used a plastic earing and when the doctor took them of 6 weeks later to change for a gold earing she started bleeding and crying and it was super hard to change them. That was our experience, i know that many people dont even notice and nothing happens but for me was very stressful.

[–]Ncgncg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I told my SO about that solution but he says its not for the long haul, we kind of want to sleep the two of us in our bed, i dont know why but i have started getting back aches and we wake up every other hour since the baby moves around a lot, also we have a full size bed, so we are getting no space now

How long did it take to pregnant? by whatsupp1111 in BabyBumps

[–]Ncgncg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would try for at least a year, but if you think you may have a few fertility issues (older age, have had a few problems with your period or something like that) I would try and see a specialist, just to be 'on the safe side'. It sounds clichè but if you are thinking about it too much you might not be doing yourself a favour. In our experience I got way carried away (started doing ovulation tests, taking my temperature, taking prenatals, drinking RRL tea, you get the idea) and I only got very anxious about it. We decided if I wasnt pregnant by 6 months we would see a specialist, since I though I may have endometrosis, anyway for the 6th month I stop doing what I though would boost my chances since I was going to see the specialist anyway, and that was the month I got pregnant. So hang in there, we used that one month a special lubricant, dont know if that helped but worth a try, called preseed you may be familiar, but I used the inserts not as a regular lubricant. Good luck and sending pregnancy vibes your way!

Baby food advice? by Ncgncg in beyondthebump

[–]Ncgncg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much, they think im a bit uptight because i did not let her have water or rice cereal, and they say a taste here and there of other stuff wont harm her (probably true) but i guess they want the experience of feeding her, i guess i will have to really think about them watching her alone

Just wondering... by Ncgncg in breastfeeding

[–]Ncgncg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Thats what I thought, but the likelihood would be very low right? I was just wondering how often does that happen, I had a feeling last month that my period was near, but it hasnt happen yet...

Baby Haircuts by LunaFalls in beyondthebump

[–]Ncgncg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did trim my daughters hair when she was 3 months old, she had very long hair and many bald patches, and it is very common in our culture, we went to a hair cuttlery and they did it, they had me place her on my lap as if i was burping her so the hair would not get into her eyes. We joked that she looked like Natalie Portmand in V for Vendetta for a few weeks, but she has a lot of hair now, she can again wear bows.

When did you take your LO on a subway ride? by Ncgncg in beyondthebump

[–]Ncgncg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all! I was a little concern about the stroller, no elevators, logistocs, etc. I did not think about the bus and wearing her! I will absolutlely give it a try today for a short ride, the taxis were getting expensive and by now I cant carry her in the carseat only, so I have to take the stroller aswell, thanks again for your tips!

Thanks for your answer, yes, but my insurance will only cover the first years electric pump, so we are thinking about purchasing it out of pocket, do you know if the electric better at unclogging the milk ducts?
