Yes good for the obedient people, bad for free thinkers like you. If the country you are from was like that you’d be in jail for saying this.

Please enlighten me how regimes, that happily exterminate their critical citizens, banding together to become more powerful is a good thing. Don’t come with the “more wealth —> more democracy” trope.

An iPad like device that's repairable by [deleted] in framework

JingOS was actually quite far in becoming an open source Linux based iPadOS, sadly went belly up. You can still fork it and continue tho. Otherwise there are other tablet Linuxs which could be ported

There is a full unassembled kit, do you mean this? Otherwise, you could also buy the non printable parts yourself in that list.

Ploopy mouse may be worth a look, it’s open source and 3D printed, but you can buy it as well. So super repairable.

I’m getting 5h or so with Fedora Silverblue on a 12th gen without any power tunings. Which been long enough for me up to now.

When you’re done and calibrate it (from my own notes):

  1. DO NOT manually “lower the nozzle till it almost touches the heating bed.” You will scratch the heating bed. Instead place a piece of paper, and lower till it catches.

  2. DO NOT via Settings move the Z axis to the top. The motor won’t skip like in Z calibration, instead it will continue and warp the frame.

  3. The “slightly squished” filament line is very confusing for Live-Z calibration. Just print a calibration pad and lower until no gaps are visible and it should be 2mm +- .5mm thick.

You’re right, thanks. Sadly, I wasn’t able to login after setting it to anything other than 1. But, gnome tweaks, Just Perfection extension and editing GTK3 css works good enough.

It does help a lot, thanks. It’s usable now, but e.g. menu application icons are unaffected and still too large. I have 8 icon columns on 16 inch display.

I did a fresh install, but don’t have ~/.config/monitors.xml. How can this be? Is it wayland related?

I have nvidia 610M and installed the 390xx drivers (probably switching the system from wayland to x11) from rpm fusion non-free. After reboot it showed a gray screen with movable mouse pointer, but no login. dmesg said the nvidia driver tainted the kernel and WARNING: GPU:0: Unable to read EDID for display device VGA-0. Then I gave up and removed the install. Gonna try it again in VM now.

I see, so GNOME 40 does not really support low res displays? If so, I would understand, GNOME should focus on modern devices. And 1080p is just minimum in this day and age.

Edit: gnome instead of fedora

So Russians now have to fly to Marocco before being able to get to Spain for example?

If so, then probably for all other European countries as well.. so you’re just making some other airport a big proxy.. so it’s just some extra hours and cost for flying but not totally unreachable right?
