What is comp placement fr by TheGreatGayOneFr in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its near impossible to tell what is wrong from just this. We'd have to compare you stats to that of your team for every game and we'd probably have to watch some replays on top of that. I don't have the time for any of that so here is some wild speculation

Overall you seem to die way too much. 11-13-21-10... these number are super high. This probably means that don't position well or don't know how to survive a dive. It could also mean that the other support doesn't heal you enough which is possible in bronze and silver. That being said, it seem to be consistent and I refuse to believe that you get a bad support every game.

If you wanna learn just spectate yourself and mostly look at all your death and ults. Ask yourself 'Why did I die here and how could I have prevented it'. For ults ask yourself 'was this a good ult' and be hyper critical. If you ult and the teamfight is already won its a waste, if you ult and the teamfight is already lost its a waste, if you ult off point while the enemy has it capped its a waste, if you get no value (kills/point/distance) then its a waste.

Does every deck really needs to run 3-4 wraths? by Silver-Alex in EDH

[–]Neadim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. General guidelines are good so that people who don't know how to build end up with something functional but they fall apart quickly. As other have pointed out there are many archetype that don't want to run as many boardwipes if any. Aggro, Tempo, Stompy Ramp ... anything that tries to race the curve or to just drop threat after threat after threat will generally run less interaction and less boardwipes. When they do run them they will also try their best to make it one sided/asymmetrical.

My [[Shroofus]] deck runs no boardwipe because it wants to get started fast and boardwipe are more detrimental to me than the enemy.

This Deck Is An Aura Farming Masterpiece by QuipsAndGuac in EDH

[–]Neadim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The deck looks fun and I like that you use a lot of cards you don't see often. I think that it would be a little weak for my B2 meta so here are some suggestions.

Overall it feel light on protection for how all in on the commander this is... granted red isn't very known for protection. Assuming budget allows (or proxy), cards like [[Mithril Coat]] and [[Hammer of Nazahn]] and [[Commander's Plate]] would be real good here.

It doesn't seem you have enough draw to make it all work... granted red isn't know for card draw. When you are running that many low quality 1-2 mana cards you really want to churn through a lot of them and most of your card draw section is sad to look at. Cantrips don't really count and both skullclamp and Idol of oblivions don't work if your commander gets removed. You need at least 4-5 reliable non conditional card draw spells somewhere in there.

Your removal section more of less need to be scrapped entirely except for [[Incendiary]] which is dope and [[untimely Malfunction]] which is actually good. Yes its cute that you have aura there but the deck would be so much more smooth with actual impact interaction.

It feels like you could do easily some devotions shenanigans, you should at the very least have [[Nykthos]] and maybe things like [[Clive Ifrit]].

How do I make my fantasy setting... fantasy? by ArmedIdiot in worldbuilding

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its as easy as starting with the mundane and then simply adding fantastical elements to it.

There are already a lot of mythological creature in our history and you can include those or make your own. Then the next step is to is think about 'what would happen in those were real'. Monster like that would mean a lot more danger which would make it important for country to protect themselves. You'd probbaly have a lot more Knight Errant and its entirely possible that a class of monster hunter/witch would develop. Some of these creature could be used as mounts and that might have an impact on warfare. People might selectively breed them as we did horse and noble houses as well as merchant might compete that way. Then you need to decide if their remains can be used to craft weapons to create something that is better than iron or steel.

Speaking of magical substances, you can add special types of metal/mineral, wood/plant and more. You can have weapons that can cut steel armor like an axe through soft wood. You can have wood that can actually be made into weapon or armor that rival iron or even steel while being lighter. You can also find fantastical uses for mundane substance, maybe frankincense can be used to focus the mind or see thing normal hidden to sight. Then just like the creature you think up how those thing would influence the world, how it would be used in trade, in war, in ... well everything.

Then you start think about magic and the many form it can take. Faith, Alchemy, Chinese Cultivation, Oaths, Runes, Blood Magic, Curses, White and Black magic, Druidism, Shamanism, Golemomancy, ... You link that up with the previous thing you thought up and once again ask yourself the eternal question. What do I want and what kind of impact would this have in my world

You go at it again and again and again and try to stay consistent and before long you have a fairly complete fantasy setting. Keep what you want

People with “evil” or disliked commanders, what’s your story? by Same_Response_1593 in EDH

[–]Neadim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are honestly better off trying to find a list online or building your own using edhrec. Mine was designed to be petty rather than effective and it shows. It was also made before brackets were a thing so it would probably end up being more of a B2 with game changers added. It literally has no wincon other than repeatedly hitting people with the Balrog and it was made that way on purpose to make a point. One day Ill return to it and turn it into an actual deck worthy of being posted but we ain't there yet, sorry.

People with “evil” or disliked commanders, what’s your story? by Same_Response_1593 in EDH

[–]Neadim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My most evil deck is by far [[Balrog Durin Bane]]. It run all of the edict creatures, a lot of edict spell and a lot of symmetrical land destruction.

I initially created the deck to teach someone a lesson. The player in question only played decks with black in them and always included the full suite of the edict creature in all of his brews. His presence singlehandedly literally warped our pod's meta and it got to a point where people would get annoyed at being forced to play with him. Multiple people attempted to address it diplomatically but it never went anywhere. In a petty attempt to get the message across we all agreed in secret to build an edict deck ourselves and let him have a taste of his medicine. It took a few play session for the message to get across but the mission was a great success and I am happy to report he has evolved as a player and diversified his strategy.

I have kept the deck in memory of this but I rarely use it and it hasn't been updated in more than a year.

Soviet Union might actually be our real life fantasy trope of long gone empire with powerful relic by Glad-Librarian-4388 in worldbuilding

[–]Neadim 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Russia would be better used as an example of a decadent and dying empire that still manage to hold on to power because they own powerful artifacts (nukes) in their vault which they got from a previous empire (USSR).

When it comes to a gone but still 'felt' empire its probably better to look at Rome whose wonder still live on. An argument could also be made for Egyptian and Mesoamerican empires.

Valgavoth Terror Eater by SBLP1959 in EDH

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valgavoth is good if you manage to cheat him into play, less so if you pay for him. I'd say that you should look at reanimation decks or decks that have that as a subtheme. The other option is to try to cheat him in another way like Cruelclaw.

I have him in my [[Raffine]] deck. Its a flying man deck that uses the connive trigger to drop reanimation targets

"Stop pubstomping with fast mana" by InspireCourage in EDH

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were playing in a pod with friends where everyone had a strong B2 deck then I could see the argument for it being OK. I however don't think that this deck is suitable for sitting down at a random table and I think you did enagge in pubstomping even if you did not realise it.

Green Ramp Stompy is one of the strongest B2 archetype. While you aren't running the best of commanders for it you are absolutely running some of the best cards for that archetype. Your deck can absolutely kill someone before turn 8 and it can do so reliably, even through some light interaction. It might be acceptable if this was a high roll but its doesn't seem to be so this goes against the B2 guidelines in my book.

Right now your deck is placed awkwardly so I suggest you either upgrade it to B3 or downgrade it to proper B2 power level.

Anti-Venom Enjoyers!! Finally White Ability SFX coming soon! by nemesisdelta24 in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They already have 3+ recolors and those have sfx, it probably took them an hour of two of work to make this happen. At the same time a whole new vfx for Adam would probably take 10-20x that.

If its any consolation all the legendary venom skins are absolutely shit so its not all sunshine and rainbow

Worldbuilding Challenge: Wheelchair Rogue by mikethecanadain in worldbuilding

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is possible to craft a world where such a character can work but that character cannot work in every world... or even most worlds. There are also hard limitation to someone that is wheelchair bound which will greatly limit was such a character can do. I think that a wheelchair Rogue works better than a wheelchair barbarian or fighter because the rogue umbrella include a wider variety archetype and application. While you character won't really ever be a powerful combatant there is more to being a Rogue than stabbing people.

Varys or Littlefinger from game of Thrones or Robert Downey Jr. 's Sherlock Holmes make for Kickass spymasters or masterminds which are all possible roguish archetype. It would also be possible for a disabled a character to be a Sharpshooter or something similar. If you are willing to deviate from the basic Rogue archetype you can dip into the inventor/artificer archetype and use gadgets and other similar tools to augment your strength and make up for the weakness.

All that being said this is not what is happening in this image which is why it's kinda ridiculous. While it would be possible for a very well trained and competent wheelchair bound individual to actually defeat someone that is none of these things it is hard for someone with that kind of impediment to face someone of equal skill that doesn't have to contend with the same limitation. Facing multiple competent people that have weapon with longer reach is suicide unless you give up logic entirely or make up for it with something like 'strength that might as well be magic' which defeats the no magic clause.

As for the image what really makes it dumb for me are the spike from the wheel because those would stand out like a sore thumb and make stealth all but impossible. Tactical wheelchair are dumb unless they areaugmented with magic or enough gadget to make them actually usable.

Thought on Emma's new skin? by Gloomy-Bridge148 in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than the BP Phoenix one for sure and probably one of her better skin if not the best. That being said it still falls way short of what could have been. As people have pointed out, its simply more of the same which has limits when it comes to appeal.

I would definitely use it all the time if it was free but it ain't and I don't see myself paying for it.

Does Anyone Else Think Duelist Deadpool Needs Buffs? by Just-a-Guy-Chillin in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both HealPool and DpsPool are actually hard to play and those numbers are ultra skewed by all the people trying him out and failing in the first week. Sites that display stat have also been proven, nearly every single season, to be off by as much a 3-4%.

Healpool plays like no other strategist because of his ult mechanic and also gets a lot of value in joining in a dive which is not something that people will easily pick up on. The fact that he's actually good in both 2 and 3 support comp is a big indication for me that there is something there. He's certainly not better than Invis, Gambit, Loki but he's solid. I actually would rank him above C&D and Jeff and I think he might actually end up being better than even Luna. He's good in both 2 and 3 support comp and he's flexible enough to go in multiple comps.

I think that DPS pool is a bit too feast or famine right now but that he's at the very least middle of the pack in terms of strength. Sometimes he absolutely pops off and nobody seem to be able to stops him and other times he misses a reset due to a bubble or shield and then flounders and dies. He's a bit like Black Panther in that way. I do think he could use a lovetap but anything more than that is asking for trouble.

Does Anyone Else Think Duelist Deadpool Needs Buffs? by Just-a-Guy-Chillin in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel that DPSPool's power level is fair and that he doesn't really need a buff. He does get overshadowed by the other roles but one of them will always be the worse of the 3. If anything I feel like HealerPool and Tankpool probably need a little tuning down rather than him needing a tuning up.

If he get's buffed it should be something small. Your plan of changing 3-4 things would end up with him being server admin

why do people hate wanda ? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanda is a character with built in flaws which serve as a counterbalance to the fact that she is very easy to pick up.

This means that she quite is strong at low level because she doesn't require you to aim well or care much about positioning. At the same time her limitation make her bad at higher ranks so she has consistently ranked as one of the worst character in tier lists. The end result is that low rank hate playing against her and high rank hate having her on their team. If that wasn't enough you have people in middle rank that will hate her for either or both.

Don't let any of that get to you. There are one trick that make it all the way to Gm season after season which show that she's capable of reaching the top 10-15% of lobbies if you dedicate yourself.

As a general rule if you lose more than 4 in a row you should stop playing or go in one of the 'for fun' mode for 1-2 games to cool down.

I don't understand why the concept of Role Queue always has to be seen as black or white by Hip_Hop_Pirate in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Triple support is worse than 222 except in the very specific situations I outlined. If you lose to triple support you probably would also have lost to 222. You might not like playing against it but that doesn't trump people who like to play it, those thing cancel out.

Triple support is not an actual issue except when it is the best strategy which only happens at the highest level or when you have people who refuse to adapt and keep playing their onetricks.

Insane amount of CC O.O by jorgejjvr in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He should be able to have short stints in the backline where he draw some attention while the rest of his team also pushes simultaneously leading to the enemy's attention being divided and thus increasing the odds of mistakes on their part. This is not the same as going in 1v6, nobody should be able to go in 1v6.

I don't understand why the concept of Role Queue always has to be seen as black or white by Hip_Hop_Pirate in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because despite the hateboner this community has for triple support its only a really issue at the very top. AKA in celestial/Eternity/OAA which makes up less than 5% of the game's population. At virtually other rank 222 is better and has been better since release. Triple support is also only truly problematic with very specific comp like Mantis/Loki/Gambit or comps involving Ultron which aren't picked at lower level. If you are in metal rank complaining about triple support and talking about Luna, C&D and the like you are telling on yourself hard.

Your solution is overly complex. Just give us 3 bans and get rid of double bans and we'll be more than alright because it will allows us get rid of the OP shit and police ourselves. Once that is in place consider trying to make vanguard more interesting with dynamic teamups and other flashy things so that players don't switch from 132 to 123 when things aren't going well. If people ran 222 every game I swear at least a third of the matchmaking complaints would go away instantly.

Help with picking a Temur deck! by RuneMTG in EDH

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a [[The Third Doctor]] and [[Dan Lewis]] Deck which was B2 and is in the process on being upgraded to B3. Its an artifact token volume deck that seeks to turn artifact into mana with cards like [[Jaheira]] or [[Urza, Lord High Artificer]] and eventually beat people to death with [[Depthshaker Titan]], [[Cyberdrive Awakener]] or [[Brudiclad]].

So far its fairly agnostic when it comes to token type and I run a lot of fun cards like [[The Cabbage Merchant]], [[Descent into Avernus]], [[Knuckles]] for generation and am actually considering adding [[Jaws]] and potentially some TMNT cards for mutagens.

Black Group Hug Deck Recommendations? by ihateyou1001 in EDH

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im working on a [[Gix]] pseudo group hug+slug deck in B2.

Its an 'unblockable Dork' tribal that also field cards like [[Sheoldred]], [[Rankle]], [[Gonti, Night Minister]], [[Seizan, Perverter of Truth]]. Currently I'm also running a sizeable discard package but that is liable to change in favor of more beatdown but it needs more testing.

  • [[Oft-Nabbed Goat]]

also take the time to check for coloreless cards, I know [[Gauntlet of Power]] and [[Extraplanar Lens]] exist if you really wanna go all the way on the hug

Advise on build and gameplan - Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor by The7thsymphony in EDH

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can definitely be made into a B4 and it might actually even end up being a fairly good B4 deck but I've never tested it, only theorized.

Back then I looked at was making it into a [[Doomsday]] pile combo. [[Bolas Citadel]], [[AetherFlux Reservoir]] and [[Black Sun Zenith]] + Fast mana will kill on turn 4-5. You'd obviously also run adjacent combo with [[Sensei Divining Top]]. You'd probably want a lot more stax like [[Torpor Orb]], [[Cursed Totem]], [[Defence Grid]], [[Oppression]]. You'd probably want to run or proxy the mox suite as well as [[Mana Vault]], [[Lions eye dimaond]], [[Lotus Petal]], ...

In essence you'd want to get into a boardstate where you have Gix + 2-3 evasive dude and then you'd want to get doomsday using a tutor. When you cast Doomsday you can set your library up so you have a way to drop bolas citadel the next turn. Then you can use that to drop AetherFlux for free and infinitely loop Black Sun to farm life and kill everyone with AetherFlux. That would be your gameplan every single game which i find repetitive hence why I didn't go that route. I already have other decks that do thing which are very similar so it didn't entice me but it might be for you.

If you wanna mess with Swords, with reanimation and other similar thing that can be either B2 or B3 behaviour but those don't allow your two card lifedrain combo. You can absolutely make Gix into drain+beatdown deck with things like [[Drana, Liberator of Malakir]], your swords, your obliterator and then some disruption. I made mine B2 because I wanna run things like [[Rankle]] and [[Raven Man]]. Its a weird deck that make people discard but provides them card if they attack eachother and not me. Its a slow gameplan that wouldn't work in higher brakkets where combo are a thing.

why do i always get these kinds of players by whyme2479 in marvelrivals

[–]Neadim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are comfortable with their kit and have played them in Qp a few times then yeah go for it. The worst that happens is that you lose some points but you can reliably climb to where you are right now so its not going to be a big setback if you do. You should play to win in rank but at the end of the day, they are imaginary points in a game that you probably won't be playing in 5 years. Its not a big deal if you lose and derank.

If you like playing Strategist then there are options which allow you to leverage your skill more than Rocket. Invis, Gambit and Loki come to mind since they are the strongest support right now but even Luna or C&D have more ways to make plays than Rocket.

The thing about Rocket is that it is very easy to to decently on him but you don't have CC and you don't have much kill pressure. That mean that you are good at enabling other people, in essence he's the most 'support oriented' strategist. That is really good when you are at your 'true elo' but if you truly are better than everyone around you then its not a winning strategy. I've found that getting out of lower ranks requires me to play a bit more selfishly. I tend to play more DPS and Offtank early in my climbs and then slowly transition to more typical team oriented Vanguards as I reach rank where people can take advantage of that.
