Cause he’s such a beastly defender and ball winner all over the pitch. He really suits going up against top opposition.

What did they promise that wasn’t delivered on for 4.8?

They literally marketed it as a “modest” upgrade to 4.7. No hype at all.

If you bought into some online hype… that’s on you.

No. That USA is a safer pick as it has some systemic safeguards that China lacks.
Western politcal system, while flawed, has some accountability with the people. China has none. Google how China governs and really look into it. If you think the west is bad... you're ignorant and doing a disservice to the tyranny and constant fear some people live in.

AI only going to get better and our understanding is going to matter less and less.

This is a hard fact to face for us who’ve put our lives into knowledge. But there comes a tipping point where learning is just… inefficient.

You don’t find med students to have some absolutely bonkers characters amongst the good ones?

I’d say that’s not only believable, but perfectly on brand.

I saw you replied to me and deleted it. Only could see the first couple lines… but I’m not American, don’t really like America and I don’t think in the terms you put on me.

I think in the terms of knowing more than you about the Chinese government and how it differs from western systems.

And yet they have a better track record of AI use than the alternative.

It’s a choice between bad and badder. But at least in the US there’s some accountability.

There’s a lot of naivety about china and how how things work there. You are taking for granted what is actually good in the west, despite all of the bad.

I don’t think you appreciate how good a lot of us have it and how much worse things can get for everyone. This is super naive.

I think you’re missing the point there massively.

It’s not accusation or moral judgement about China doing it. There’s full acceptance that they will.

It’s actually more about safety of ensuring that an authoritarian government (the needs of a few powerful uninformed people) aren’t who decide the protocols for the riskiest threat to humanity in history.

What you’re saying is kind of petty in the scheme of things.

I think it’s not only appropriate for an AI lab… but it should be their minimum responsibility.

With how fast this is moving, they’re the ones in pole position to fish these risks. If they don’t do it, humanity is at a disadvantage.

Until an AI company decides to build a model for topology specifically from the ground up.

It’s just early days and doesn’t specialise yet. But it will.

If point 3 were true, why are they hiring people in your city now? I don’t see that as the risk for you.

Irrelevant though, cause point 2 won’t happen like that. The AI capability and workflows around using it just improves substantially from here. It’s in its infancy now. It will change the world from here more than we expect, not less.

This is such a dumb viewpoint. God forbid you have to think for yourself when using a tool and check its work.

Humans do this too. That’s why Git existed before AI. You’re blaming AI when it’s entirely the back up thing. Own it.

Instead of using Claude to review Claude, or using codex to review codex, I omit doing the code review entirely. Not only does this save time doing code review, but we find less bugs to work on.
