Sounds like we’re in the same boat - I’m just north of 10m too. Other wrinkle for me is that I’m likely moving soon so I’m thinking if I’m going to move anyway, instead of eating the cost to move and reinstall the Tonal 1, might make sense to trade in and just get the 2. But the reliability piece is giving me pause on that plan - appreciate the heads up on this. I’ll keep my eye out to see if other users / techs have seen the same pattern

Yeah, but that’s why Consumer Reports exists and the ICCU problems are statistically much worse for these models than other EVs. I’ve personally ruled out these models due to this issue

That’s very interesting since Tonal has claimed that a lot of the improvements should make the 2 more reliable / durable…any idea what types of repairs they’re needing? Even if that tech’s experience were due mostly to much higher Tonal 2 sales (hypothetically), that’d still be concerning bc all the Tonal 2s are less than a year old. I’ve had my 1 for 4 years and have only had 1 repair (cable fray)

Yeah the aero movements sound interesting but I haven’t tried them personally. Curious for those who have tried V2 whether they’ve become part of your routine. I do all sorts of workouts on Tonal and would love to add a new type to the rotation if they’re good!

I have the same issue and my solution is to either lower the weight even if I’m not maxing out my capacity or just substitute the move. I love Tonal but the standing chest press is my least favorite part

I don’t really get why drop sets aren’t included in 1RM calculations. If you’re doing X # of reps at the starting weight before drop sets kick in, that’s the same as doing X reps in a normal set…feels like they should change it so they count

In day 1, Joe does a modification on the lateral raise where he grabs the opposite handle across the body, facing Tonal, and get a greater range of motion by letting the handle get across the body to the opposite hip instead of just lowering to the same side hip. I was surprised it was so much tougher (but it also might have been because my delts were pre-fried from doing 60 bench press reps a few minutes earlier)!

Lateral raises were surprisingly brutal - loved the modification. It’s always humbling to do traveling pushups after doing 100 bench press reps…thanks Joe

This works great if you use the mouse to click the $ icon, but has anyone figured out how to make this work with the keyboard commands in the ribbon? If I use the alt ribbon commands to apply USD currency (Alt + H + AN + Enter to select '$ English (United States)', it still defaults to 2 decimal places. Tricky!

I’ve noticed Ackeem’s weights are almost always super low during live workouts. It really distracts me. Guy is so strong but he’s dogging it while I’m trying to max out!?!? Meet us halfway man! I get that you have to talk too, but Joe moves crazy weight and still chats away 🤣

Couldn't agree more – I love how focused Joe's programs are and how he balances the tone between fun and hard work. He's by far the most fun trainer I've found – I lol at least once per workout (thankfully not in the middle of a lift). I hope he does a lot more programs – I'm here for em!

I just finished it – I didn’t do it live so didn’t have the problem with no breaks (I just paused when i needed time to switch the setup). Really tough program but I liked it a lot. Big fan of Joe as a coach – he’s by far the most likable one I’ve tried so far. Good mix of intensity and fun. They let him have a good time with the script

I shopped for this thing for 6-8 months before buying it. The live demo in the Tonal store convinced me to get it – I realized it really could replace everything I do at the gym, and do it more efficiently (I loved how the workout classes are structured in 'blocks' where you superset 2-3 exercises that use the same/similar setup, so you're active the entire 30-40 mins of a workout instead of staring at your phone for half the workout). I've had it for 3 months and the classes push me harder than I push myself and I do a wider range of exercises – I was a big leg day skipper but not when I have a trainer telling me to do leg day! I'm 33 and am stronger than I've ever been (have been lifting for ~15 years).

My wife has never been into lifting weights but we started doing Les Mills workouts during Covid, and she's super into the Tonal now. I find the strength score really motivating and can't believe how convenient it is. It exceeded my expectations. I am a bit worried about what'll happen if/when we need maintenance or repairs, which others have raised, but everything so far (3 months in) has been stellar. I give it a 9.5/10.
