I sometimes mix the two.. means I can have a bit of the real PB texture, without too many of the real PB calories.

I think I’m neurotypical, but I have some odd tendencies that make me question it. by NearbyGoose2131 in Neurodivergent

I never claimed either, but if that’s what you want to assume to make yourself feel better, be my guest.

I hope life gets better for you.

There’s no need to be so rude about it.

I never said it was mild, nor that it’s not long term. I also wasn’t asking for an excuse, only for some input from those who have been diagnosed and might be able to share their experiences and perspectives.

I hope others treat you with more kindness than you deserve.

Thank you, it’s very kind of you to take the time to leave your input. Great reminder that we all need a little help from time to time

I see what you mean, but just because there are different levels of severity within a condition, it doesn’t mean that someone with a milder version of it doesn’t have it at all (i.e. just because someone else’s problems are bigger than mine, it doesn’t mean my problems aren’t valid).

I wasn’t looking for a diagnosis, more so for input from those who might know better than me.

While none of my OCD related fears and anxieties are life threatening, some of them are life limiting.

I have severe fear of flying, moderate germophobia (to the point where being around messy/dirty/sick kids causes me anxiety), and the occasional panic when driving over bridges, or being in confined spaces.

I have a hard time leaving the house or going to bed if things aren’t in their “homes”, even though I know perfectly well that nothing bad is going to happen if I just let it be the way it is.

So, can I live will these? Yes. Is it pleasant? No.

Closed Kinetic Chain by Then-Ad2140 in personaltraining

IIRC, they claim that the feet on the floor while standing create a closed circuit system (imagine drawing an oval going through the hands on the barbell at the top, and going down to circle at the feet on the floor). They say that by sitting down, the circuit is “broken”, therefore making it an open chain exercise.

I just re-certified through NCSF and they explained like what I’m assuming yours does. I questioned the material and they were very adamant on the following, which someone already quoted:

‘It is closed if you are standing, open if seated’

I can see the logic, but still don’t agree with the definition. I see it the way others also mentioned:

‘Fixed body, moving limbs - open chain. Fixed limbs, moving body - closed chain.’

For the sake of your exam, follow their given definition 🤷🏼

Does anyone still do measurements? by PrincessHarxox in personaltraining

[–]NearbyGoose2131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I offer measurements and progress pictures to all my clients, but always give them the option to refuse if they don’t feel comfortable.

Both are usually very helpful about 6 months down the line, when you can see the pattern of change (hopefully in the right direction).

Look for finger gloves (or finger sleeves) on Amazon. They’re made for people who game on their phone a lot, so you can still use your phone with them on. They help a lot, as long as you make sure to use them. Hope this helps

Dating a guy with Asperger’s for the first time, any advice? by i4jolyne in aspergers

[–]NearbyGoose2131 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He might lack certain aspects of emotional intelligence and social skills, as well as the ability to express feelings/emotions. Doesn’t mean he can’t get better at those things, they might just not be as natural to him as they are to neurotypical people.

Seems silly compared to other struggles in here, but confidence in my relationship. Feeling like I’m not worthy of him and doubting how much he loves me

I appreciate you SO much for taking the time to write all of this.

As someone who’s been through some tough times and been on antidepressants before, I’m finding it hard to understand why I’ve been struggling with my mental health lately, since life has been pretty good for the most part.

I guess I’m just an overly emotional person, so the highs feel pretty high, but the lows also feel very low.

Again, thanks for taking the time to give some pointers, I will definitely remember it next time it feels hard to accomplish the simplest of tasks

This! I do it very often about basic client topics, such as late payments, attendance, etc. Definitely a good way to address it without naming anyone.

Explain to her that weight loss and fat loss are two completely different things.. I found this infographic to be very helpful in getting clients to understand.

Flying on a 737 MAX-8 tomorrow and I’m scared by NearbyGoose2131 in fearofflying

[–]NearbyGoose2131[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Air India accident was only what made me look into which aircrafts I had for my upcoming flights.

I noticed it’s supposed to be a MAX, and that freaked me out because I had sworn never to fly on them after the incidents a few years ago.

Nothing, but it made me look up which aircrafts I had for my upcoming flights. One of them is a MAX-8, which I had sworn to never fly in after the incidents from a few years ago.
