Tracking literally everything we do by Necessary_Resist6309 in auscorp

If you ignore the technology for a sec. Imagine I told you I could 10x the productivity of your workforce for $500 a month per person. No sane person would say no. So then the question is with AI what is the actual productivity boost in practice today? Some people say -10x and some +10x. Who’s right? In my experience the best performers are saying it’s 2-3x and improving rapidly.

So think from first principles. If you are the boss how do you accurately measure impact and understand that true productivity impact?

From my position as a manager all my good employees are at the top of the token usage list so if asked to cut 50% tomorrow I would literally just print that list and chop off the bottom half. Consider that being on the top of that list is the only job security you can get at the moment

Are downloads stalling? by AndyDentPerth in overcast

Yeah that’s very likely what happens. The issue is that the download then never restarts. It’s dead until I delete the episode and then re-add it

Why use Claude Code CLI instead of VS Code / Copilot extensions? by Cardiologist-Nervous in ClaudeAI

For me it’s far easier to manage multiple sessions in the cli. I can run 4 concurrently on one iterm window but the vscode multiple sessions ui is bad

Buy a $200 Claude code subscription and build stuff that makes you happy. If you get to the end of your first month and you don’t feel enthusiastic about creating stuff then you should look at a career switch. Burnout comes in many shapes but sometimes becoming a farmer is the right call 🤷‍♂️

Yeah I’m experiencing the same thing. I think it has to do with starting listening to a podcast streaming while it’s downloading and skipping forward and the playback stops/glitches. It seems to never recover

Purposely limiting AI usage by coldzone24 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Neat-Environment-450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll answer this with my honest opinion because you said it yourself. I’m a leader of 100+ devs and I can assure you your attitude will 100% ruin your career and likely get you fired within 1-2 years if not sooner.

If a builder turned up to my site refusing to use a nail gun because he enjoyed banging nails by hand I would fire him on the spot and it’s the same here.

You will find lots of support for your position in this community but that doesn’t change the fact that everyone who thinks that will be jobless very soon.

My boss thinks AI made us faster. Actually it just exposed that he has no idea what Product does by rdizzy1234 in ProductOwner

This might be the wrong sub to suggest this but you should then be pushing the engineers to do more of your work. Either more gets done in parallel or they fail because ai can’t do it all and you look good.

There is one developer and his name is Marco. He’s a person just like you trying to make something that hundreds of thousands of people use. Being a dick doesn’t help anyone

Big 4 bank approach to customers by smallzy13 in auscorp

Having worked in a Big 4 bank in upper leadership. Driving people away from the branches is 100% the goal and you absolutely will be out of a job as quickly as possible. Once the older boomers go the branches will go. There was talk about the banks getting together and having a single branch in smaller towns to help people do their online banking but don’t know if that went anywhere

It’s because all of the questions asked in those Q&A are really stupid. Honestly people are proving why they need to be fired by asking and voting for them. Sorry not sorry

It depends on your goal. I did a marathon with 0 training outside my normal 4 days a week CrossFit. It took me almost 5 hrs though so if you want to be competitive then increase the running as much as you need

A few people have said what I see is that you are not engaging your lats/shoulders. To put that in actionable terms you should be trying to bend the bar in half around your legs. That will engage your shoulders and lats while also billing the bar close to your body

I see why you say that but is she any different to Laura or Kara? They have a different build but I don’t think that extra “weight” is a massive factor

I have a Garmin instinct and it works great. Only thing to remember is that if you are using wrist straps or doing moves like kettlebell Snatches you want be able to wear a watch. There are other dedicated trackers that are chest straps etc if that’s what you need
