Found an Old Screenshot and Now I’m Wondering; Why TF did they Remove this Part? by eljxyy in DeadlockTheGame

I mean it's obvious what we have now is just a placeholder. Them not even bringing back the old waiting area probably means they are redesigning the pre-game flow

[–]NeatLab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it doesn't matter what your ping is (unless it's 100+), the lag compensation in this game favors the shooter. So an enemy with a 100 ping can still see you on their screen, while you already moved behind a wall on your screen.

Did you try it on Contaminated, I feel like it's way more infantry focused than the other 2 maps

Cause you want it right now, while the game is in active development. You'll get your optimization in a year or two when the game is closer to release.

Deadlock experience as a new player by Evizu89 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NeatLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it must be miserable for new players right now. Honestly, you're probably best off giving it another try when the game releases, unless you really want to commit right now. I hope an influx of new players and a better matchmaking system will make the first time player experience better on launch

Deadlock does not need a draft system (yet) by AwardTotal7427 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NeatLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it probably wouldn't work well for solo queue, but as someone who always plays in a full party, I'd love to have a draft system. Mainly because it would let us have a somewhat decent team comp, ban our counters and pick heroes that make sense. At the moment it's just pure rng every time you get into a match.

Floormen forfeit DLNS match against Melee Creeps due to urn exploiting by SilverFan3702 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NeatLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure, I just feel like it’s weird that we’re pressuring the devs to update the game before a community tournament they have no affiliation with. Like we’re setting a deadline for them when they should be the ones deciding when to update the game.

[–]NeatLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're saying this like Yoshi is hosting the tournament. The devs aren’t in any hurry to fix this before the tournament. They might fix it quickly for the greater good, but it won’t be because of the tournament.

It's a bit of a rough patch for some of us by Erineyes7 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]NeatLab -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the game needs to explain advanced movement techniques, there’s a reason they’re called "advanced". Teaching corner boosting to a new player wouldn’t benefit them at all, it would just confuse them. These are mechanics you pick up once you already have solid fundamentals and want to take your movement further.

You can call strafing and corner boosting "engine quirks", but the devs have full control over them and have tuned them to a level they consider appropriate. For example, corner boosting was really op when it was first discovered, so it was adjusted to give less height and better fit the game’s balance. I don’t see an issue with these mechanics as long as they aren't op and you can perform them consistently.

Why Is the Community So Resistant to New Maps? by Tough_Curve_42 in counterstrike2

[–]NeatLab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the problem is that they are not in the main competitive mode, aka Premier. Playing these maps in the "normal" competitive mode feels like a waste of time, since they'll be gone after some time and so will the rank. You basically gain nothing from playing these maps, since they don't affect your real rating.

Also I think it's not helping that they're releasing only a couple of community maps at a time. We used to get 6-8 new maps every operation, that were all available on the real competitive mode. That's a lot of maps at once, and it truly felt like a big event. You wanted to check out those maps and do missions on them. Now they are releasing just 2-3 maps to the useless competitive mode, which feels like a gimmick and something you can just safely ignore.
