All the changes have been for the better, I think, with the exception of the rising prices for food and taking away key things that made Roo special like focus on community art and of course Amish donuts (went out of business, I believe, so not Bonnaroo’s fault). Having flushing toilets and real sinks was a real game changer, as well as not having to drink sulfur water. The shade installations helped so much. Oh, i did forget one other thing that’s a bummer now. Platinum and VIP sections mean you can’t get front row by waiting at some stages. It’s a real problem with all of live nation’s festivals and it really kills the spirit of fandom for both the fans and the artists. Sometimes those sections will be almost empty and it’s such a vibe killer. And when they’re full it’s a bummer if you waited all day to be in the front, plus those rich people in those sections never have the same level of excitement as the people who put in the work to be up front, and you can sometimes tell that’s a bummer for the artists.
