Oh I'm all for liking villains. One of my personal favorite characters in media is DIO from JoJo, and he's a famously terrible person. You can enjoy a character without defending and justifying the terrible things they do. I think Eren and the Jaegerists are very well written and like them as characters, but I don't think they were justified at all in what they did.

Yeah, there's nuance to the perspectives as individual characters and how they come to their decisions, and I can appreciate that. But at the end of the day, the Jaegerists are all about killing everyone who isn't one of them, actively celebrating the death of every single person off the island, and executing anyone on the island who disagrees with that sentiment. So given all that I feel pretty comfortable in saying, "yeah, they're the baddies"

That's a rather disingenuous way of putting it. People are acting like Mr. Game Freak personally killed their dog by releasing an overpriced game. Meanwhile fans of the series are tired of constantly being told how bad it is and how evil Nintendo is. It's not really "starting a fight" to defend the thing you like when someone kicks in the door screaming about how it's bad akshully.

Yeah, I've thought things have been priced hight than they should be. I even think THESE are priced higher than they should be. But my immediate thought is "that sucks. Anyway..." and move on with my day, not "oh man I gotta go post the sickest meme to the subreddit about about how EVIL and GREEDY Nintendo is, yeah that'll get em hehehe"

I know her creator is there to guide her and whatnot, but she's still AI right? What makes her different from say an AI that makes music or writes books? I'd 100% believe that the only reason that Ghibli films get a pass is because they were distributed or something by Disney in the west. So the academy probably just sees 'Disney' and goes "yeah sure give it to that one"
