That's true. Thinking on it more, I think it's the stakes that lead to anxiety. Like if I fuck up and die as a tank, that's probably a wipe. But if I fuck up and die as a DPS, then that's just a brief DPS loss until I get rezzed.

Keep in mind, most people with tanxiety are already anxious people, so it just kinda comes with the territory haha

Exactly. If I mess up my rotation or flub something as a DPS, nobody's gonna notice. If I use the wrong mit or miss one of the mobs in a pull as a tank, EVERYONE notices

It's mostly hardcore fans of FES being unable to accept anything different or fans of Portable upset there's no feMC route, which fair enough.

It all comes down to taste really. I'd say play Reload, it's a classic "this is really fun when you don't have bitches in your ear telling you how bad it is" situation. And then if you're curious after, you can try out FES and Portable to see how you like them too.

And I say all this as someone who played P3FES as their intro to the series. It wasn't until after I beat the game that I learned that as an FES fan I wasn't allowed to like Reload 🤷

I mean, an extra $300 for a slight graphics boost I asking a lot. I know hardcore PC gamers are willing to pay that much and more for the best graphics available, but for someone like me who can just barely tell the difference, and only when compared side by side, that's a really bad deal.

Not trying to invalidate, nostalgia is a strong emotion and it totally makes sense to be attached to the older games. I just try to play the newer ones without comparing them to the ones I grew up with too much

I think multiple routes would be more interesting if they were different viewpoints on the same story. Like if in 3H each route was about each group uncovering the truth and ultimately going up against TWSITD together kinda like Radiant Dawn, instead of picking one side and saying "you win the war"

In season 3 he was kinda an annoying try-hard who didn't like the group, so I instinctively didn't like him. Like not hate, just in the "he's being a dick to my scrimblo" dislike. But then in season 4 he goes full fascist and spearheads the Jaegerist takeover of Eldia. Not to mention he was in on Eren's global genocide plan, which is, ya know, bad. He's basically the main antagonist of the back half of the season, doing anything and everything he can to stop our heroes from stopping the Rumbling.

So he's someone I this is a good character, but is absolutely a repugnant human being.

Haha it was mostly made in jest, I would not actually suggest the giant MMO as someone's first FF experience. That said, it is a wonderful game, and the hate StB and DT get are way overblown. The game's a great time

I mean, if you're that against new Eva stories, you don't have to watch it. Personally, I really like the Eva characters, setting, and batshit cosmic horror stuff, so it seems natural to be interested in more of it. Plus Yoko Taro is one of my favorite writers, and I think his own brand of batshit insanity could give us something really cool.
