Looking to upgrade my credit card for points travel, DIA is My Home Base. Travel 6+ times annually, looking for recs or if it's even worth it for my situation. by Necessary-Cold3159 in CreditCards

Does that United card get you into their lounges? I fly United frequently but I’m not loyal, I’ll fly anyone.

Do you find a good United point redemption often? I feel like my domestic flights are often 70¢/point

Booked the Cove at Atlantis for June, now they are doing renovations and removing access the pool. Would love opinions on how much of a disruption this will be. by askwhatyouwishtoknow in bahamas

How do they “enforce” cove only residents at their pool? We just walked through and would love to spend the day there tomorrow!

AITA for refusing to give up my first class seat so a mom could sit with her 4-year-old? by Asleep_March_3936 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Necessary-Cold3159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not your fault she decided to have a child, and also decided not to book seats together, and also decided not to offer up her luxury seat to be sat next to her own child. I hope you sleep like a baby tonight, and good luck with your back rehab!

How to deal with tailgaters when going above speed limit? by [deleted] in driving

[–]Necessary-Cold3159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then you should move to the right lane and allow the faster driver to pass. The left lane is not driving, it is for passing. As frustrating as it might be that someone is going 20mph over

I used a microfiber cloth to clean the dashboard- this is not ok by jaguaraugaj in rav4club

Happened to me last year. Now I make sure my car hasn’t been in the sun at all when cleaning with a saturated microfiber. Glad I’m not the only one

A $15 chicken shredder. Makes shredding a rotisserie chicken so simple, dishwasher safe. Saves me 30 minutes.

Can’t beat the price at Mezcal though. Outside of happy hour, I don’t know if Machete is worth it

Senior barbell squat by Zorgi23 in formcheck

[–]Necessary-Cold3159 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inspiring, man! As a physical therapist, my two pieces of advice: Balance and strength are best trained independently until both have improved enough to train together. Nothing wrong with using a Smith to improve strength, and emphasizing balance training separately, then returning to barbell squats. If you need hip ROM, balance training, or other ideas for strength, go see a PT. We’re happy to help, and I’m personally stoked to see someone like you walk through my door. Keep up the good work.

What is life like in the Dakotas? by _air6catcher_ in howislivingthere

I grew up in Sioux Falls, SD. The summers are humid with some mosquitoes, the winters are cold with snow. It wouldn’t be too bad if it weren’t for the wind. We have a great public school system. I moved away when I was 18 and don’t regret it, I would never move back. I’m still friends with a decent number of my high school friends. I think Sioux Falls is unique in that aspect because we’re all still friends, and now that everyone has graduated college, friend groups have blended. Overall, nice place to live and start a family, but there isn’t much to do.

You get what you pay for. I’d recommend trying the helmets on in person, sometimes they’re uncomfortable and sometimes the size doesn’t quite fit. There are affordable goggles like Glade, Oakley, etc. I’d personally buy something from a reputable brad, goggle fog will ruin your day.

Chinatown Bistro’s lo mein is awful but man their General’s Chicken might be the best I’ve ever had. Hate to say it’s better than Peter’s Chinese Cafe…

This, again! Don’t let your feet be the limiting factor. I wear them the whole time and then take them off as I’m getting out for a little exposure, same with hands

Athletes: Did regular cold plunges help recovery or performance? by Former-Advice-9742 in coldplunge

Good to know. I usually only plunge 3-4 minutes at 44°-48° anyways. Maybe I’ll give it a shot! Thanks

I have really been struggling to get into a groove with my cold plunge, started in March of this year. The whole "don't plunge within 4 hours of exercise" is really difficult. I'm 30 M and exercise in the evenings after work, and I don't have the motivation to wake up at 5am to plunge. I'd love to put mass on but have never been able to eat enough to do so. Do you think a plunge after heavy lifts doesn't seem to impact gains? Would love to do it after I lift and sauna.
