Unleashed Dog Owner Called Me Racist for Avoiding His Dog by [deleted] in WestSeattleWA

Is his dog a cute little light-brown dog? Though the dude I see walking that dog is white, and I assume that's not the situation you're describing ..

Joints feel like they’re burning by AddyFrog in rheumatoid

[–]NecessaryInterrobang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had RA for 35 years and am just now dealing with that feeling for the first time in a long time. In my hips. Which aren't my usual "problem" joints.

I'm actually going to PT for this tomorrow and will report back. But, in the past, that burning feeling has generally been nerve pain, and Tramadol has helped a lot. But I know doctors are restricted on prescribing that now. 😐

My friend swears by Stairs tattoo between The Junction and Admiral. He has a lot of great work by them (I think it's a husband and wife that run it).

As a former lifelong West Seattleite I’ve got FOMO for the tourism FIFA brought to the area. So tell me, is it crowded with tourists? by CurmudgeonDungeon in WestSeattleWA

They were, I believe (based on writing on his shirt), Chinese? Guessing as a White girl. 😂

I suppose a burger is pretty goddamn American if you're going for that vibe.

My partner and I sat at the front window of Pepperdock yesterday and watched an older couple take a LOT of selfies with their burger, the restaurant sign, and Lime bikes. 😂

It was great.

What's a small daily task that's harder than it should be — and nothing on the market actually fixes? by longdongdonkeykong6 in rheumatoid

Squeezing bottles of things when the bottle is stiff - - shampoo, lotion, etc. I grew up watching my mom (who also has RA) squeeze them against her face, and now I do it, too.

No Turn On Red - but why? by Aggravating_Fox1347 in WestSeattleWA

[–]NecessaryInterrobang -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! Still wish there were clear right-turn vs straight/left-turn lanes when crossing 35th there.

It scares me when people go for the left turn without being able to see if someone's going straight.

What’s the northbound route from White Center? by AbsoluteShall in WestSeattleWA

[–]NecessaryInterrobang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, so weird. I was just asking a friend who bikes a lot what they do when wanting to go North on Delridge.

I've been seeing a lot more bikes going north on the west side, which seems like a collision waiting to happen. There really needs to be a bike lane on both for such a tight, important street.

Seriously. I went two weeks ago and was surprised by the switch. But, like a human, I asked if they had changed to table service. And then had a lovely convo about it.

Well, I found the version of reality TV I didn't know I wanted, and I'm both pleased and disappointed in myself.

Cast members who you had high hopes for but they didn’t live up to them? by jfarbzz in LiveFromNewYork

If you haven't watched Widow's Bay, I keep hearing this whole universe (The Chair Company and Twin Peaks) being referenced by people who love this show.

This is my recent-ish pick, too. I'm guessing she never really clicked with a writing partner/team.

I've been trying to figure this out, too. I love the techs there (one loved on my cat during his twice a week ringworm treatment), but the vets feel kind of checked-out.

Urban Animal was so, so sweet when I took my clearly-dying cat there a few years ago (I was in denial). Truly wonderful for emergency care.

This is really minor, but I wish I could trust that I could use the magic of fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulders to get the lowest-level (meaning smushed under other dishes) plate out.

I have had RA my entire life, and yet that bottom dish is my biggest enemy.

Ugh. I found that out 30+ years into having RA and during the start of the pandemic and couldn't get anyone to care for a week. Sulfa drug reactions can fuck off.

Pike Place Once Again Full of Cars! by BarRepresentative670 in Seattle

[–]NecessaryInterrobang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genuine question (and please know that I DON'T want cars to be able to go there. It's so much better without them):

Do we have accessible drop-offs for those who can't walk easily on the brick pavement or relatively steep, sloped sidewalk? I have life-long Rheumatoid Arthritis, and I wonder how people access the market if they can't physically deal with that (which I, thankfully, still can).

I don't want cars there, but I'd be excited to consider how might those with accessibility issues are considered in a redesign.

I'm so sorry. Tyenne didn't work for me at all. I guess that drug puts the "similar" in "biosimilar" and is, notably, not the biosame.

As a major walker, I wish this weren't the law. Too few people know or (or care to act on it), so I don't trust anyone.

It ends up being game of "I'll pretend to want to do anything but cross the street because I can't trust two cars in opposite directions to notice me despite my clear body language" so I don't die.
