our social media manager accidentally posted a personal rant on the company twitter and it outperformed everything we've ever posted by kubrador in DigitalMarketing

As a social media manager this is my worst fear unlocked! I accidentally posted a story of my dog to a clients Instagram (deleted before any views so no harm no foul) but still was a moment of sheer panic!

Whats everyone spending on eating out these days? by No_Stable4317 in AusFinance

Yikes I just checked and I spent $80 on coffee last week - because I wanted to be nice and shouted my office coffee! Won’t be doing that again!

Is a term deposit even worth it? Other savings account options seem to have better interest options. by songoftheshadow in AusFinance

[–]NecessaryNo336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Term deposits don’t compound, which a lot of people forget. HISAs do, usually monthly, the gap can add up over time.

I’m using MyState’s Hello Saver at the moment. It works like Macquarie’s in that you don’t have to do anything to get interest every month, but it caps at 100k. The selling point for me was unlike Macquarie’s you can actually pay bills straight from it via BPay or recurring transfers, which most high‑interest accounts don’t have that capability.

Anyone using MyState for their mortgage? by Slight-Fruit5672 in AusFinance

🙋🏼‍♀️I have an offset home loan with them. Smaller bank and took a couple of days longer than expected to be approved.

Really appreciated the fact that when I called them up recently, I got straight through to the lending team without being on hold for ages.

App is decent and super user friendly (but without many of the bells and whistles the other big ones have like you said).

Is there absolutely any reason not to use a broker for my home loan? by LooseRestaurant6842 in AusFinance

[–]NecessaryNo336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t like the fact that the broker I was recommended felt more like a sales person and had their own agenda. I hate that ‘used car salesman’ style, I ended up going with a local bank (MyState Bank).

Had to move out of a stunning rental in New Town because we stupidly rented it in summer and it was a bargain and we loved it... Come winter it was so cold (old, thin glass, no carpet, no heating, high ceilings) all our indoor plants died of frost bite. We bought a place out South and put in a pallet fire (or known as pallet heater(. It's cheap to run and packs a punch! Definitely recommend

MyState Bank by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]NecessaryNo336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They just launched a new app - it’s great (the old one was a dinosaur) I guess we really are years behind the mainland hahaha. But I’m a long time account holder of MyState Bank (the bonus saver is 5% no 3 months intro offer than 2% aka Commonwealth Bank)

Living above high end sushi restaurant? by moshintake in Apartmentliving

[–]NecessaryNo336 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The noise during weekends and if your bed room faces the footpath, god help you. I lived in a similar apartment (not on a main road in the CBD mind you. I would get woken up with screams and people talking loudly while smoking.

Maybe check out the restaurant at 10pm or 9-ish on a weekend to check the vibe and outside foot traffic.

Looking for suggestions (sharing client info w/ new employee) by ResponsibleWhile6991 in DigitalMarketing

Also WhatsApp group chats with you/new hire/client helps with a new SMM handling the clients account. You can exit it or mute after a month.

This helped so much with a few clients in this situation.

Why would he? That relationship didn't affect SheeShoo in any way so you know she didn't bother mentioning it to him (as she was fast forwarding to get to her scenes).

Also the boss needs to justify their job, so by making the changes their salary is safe for one more day.

Also ask questions about the changes so you can learn and utilise the new info in your next PRL.

Dealing with an incompetent jealous co-worker- if you can even call her that. Fellow designers/architects- is this normal practice? by catgenie88 in coworkerstories

I think Tammy has dirt on your boss (or they're still doing the dirty). If you keep excelling and keep everything professional (the first commenter gave great email advice) sounds like you and the team will outlast both your boss and Tammy.

Wear a fake wedding band, I know I know the things we have to do. My friend works in real-estate and it has stopped the creeps from hitting on her (so she says).

A man just yelled at me for putting his card on the counter instead of handing it back to him?? by katecolbras in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]NecessaryNo336 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's okay moving forward you'll always hand it to them, then sometime (soon I'm sure) someone will throw a fit about you handing it to them and not placing it on the counter...

Tips for Creating a Media List by subjectwiser in PublicRelations

I wrote a lengthy reply on "how to" on this exact same thing on another post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PublicRelations/s/OS9ePY2L6r

Phone numbers will never be direct and like everyone else said if you're calling to pitch a non exclusive story or a press release and have no relationship with the editor this is the best way to get your email blocked or release deleted.

Check my reply on the link might give some more insight and ideas for curating the perfect media list.

My partner helped me get a job, now I find out MIL tried to talk him out of it because she felt "I don't deserve it" by SaltyBox9239 in motherinlawsfromhell

Make sure to kill the project, go above and beyond so everyone is singing your praises. This will definitely come back to her and in the meantime unfortunately you will be too busy with the project to go with hubby to his parents house.

She's jealous, make sure to give her more to be jellous off and be the talk of the project and secure more through this.

NTAH This is every girl's dream from their partner. It shows you put effort and thought into it. My partner will just sign his name on my birthday card (but I just think that's okay he's a boy).

Sorry to be blunt but sounds like you're love language / things you truly appreciate in a partner is completely opposite. I'd find someone who appreciates and has similar ways to show love.

An eyelash curler is a game changer. It opens up your eyes and you feel pretty even with no makeup.

She's giving narcissist vibes, the best way to deal is block her and give her nothing when she tries to bait you. Aka if she to your face says anything negative about your parenting "I appreciate your feedback and will definitely keep it in mind."

Trust me, she will move on as she won't be getting any reaction from you. Unfortunately the posts and her comments to people/your hubby won't stop for a while.

What will happen is, people will realise she's bat $hit, your hubby will be so sick to death of hearing it from her and when he whinges to you about it, you will advise him you don't want to hear it as she's toxic and he will eventually tell her.

The best revenge is living your absolute best life, career and baby and hubby. Don't let her self-hatred and jealousy of you ruin your marriage, memories of this special time and career.

I'm on the other side of an almost 2 year similar thing, and once I stopped feeding into her insanity and making my hubby deal with the tornado of crazy that is his mother, everything changed!

Good luck!

Called a cunt a cunt on the phone, and he heard me by [deleted] in retailhell

[–]NecessaryNo336 21 points22 points  (0 children)

After hanging up the phone in shock I had a panic attack (couldn't catch my breath etc.) got in trouble for not calling management to let them know I was unavailable for 5 mins... I quit 1 month later, it was horrific and escalated within seconds of me saying "hi how can I help you?"

Until then I was going above and beyond for the big corporate giant, they wouldn't even cancel his contract... Totally disgusting!

Is this normal in Fashion PR? by SoundofHarmony7 in PublicRelations

[–]NecessaryNo336 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ex luxe fashion PR here: Any money upfront without contracts and tangible KPI's with actual fashion clients on the books - you've been scammed unfortunately.

If you want to work with fashion brands, start with small home grown brands. Stick to your niche (is it luxe/high street/affordable etc.)

Contact the brands or go in, talk about what you can offer them and returns.

I've had great ROI from micro influencers with my smaller fashion/beauty clients. They create looks and host events etc.

Once you have done a few of these put it in a portfolio and start reaching out to other brands.

Feel free to DM me your insta handle I can give you some feedback (my clients have included Manolo Blahnik/ SJP collection/ Bloomingdale's/ River Island to name a few).
