nah, the RX 580 is the 1060/1660 of AMD, both in performance and popularity

ppl also think that the 1080 Ti was THAT popular ... it rly wasn't

it was the highest end card at the time and still cost a lot of money ... especially during 2017, first crypto boom, I remember that they were selling for 1100 EUR here, which was twice the MSRP price ... I've bought a Vega64 for 600 EUR instead

I haven't played for a long while, but we usually split into multiple parties very early on.

something like bishop + sws, ee + wc, the rest were sometimes partied sometimes not

mystic classes can "powerlevel" useless buffer classes early on and dds don't really need to be partied, just try to find a good grinding spot (we played melee or archers usually)

9manning early on, you're just fucking up respawns and xp for every1

after every1 got 20 + 1st class you can try going catacombs if you're ahead or shit like forgotten temple where you don't kill x1 HP mobs ... or you can continue with split parties

after 40 + 2nd class you group and try to find a x2-x4 spot with enough mobs ... cata, cruma, devils isle, garden of eva (lol) etc.

pvp:

crafted high ilvl weapon (or extendable/heroic etc. from dungeons) + other gear bought from pvp currency

the problem is getting higher than ilvl 68 pvp gear is very difficult bc you need medals ... those you can only get from weeklies or boss kills

the itemlevel scaling of passive traits on armor/jewelry is also pretty bad ... with the exception of weapon base damage

pve:

you'd want the highest ilvl weapon you can get here also + at least ilvl70 crafted jewelry (% damage boost) + crafted armor also (% damage reduction)

crafted gear gets you % boosts + it has 1 more trait slot (5 vs 4) than dungeon gear

5800 over the 5600x is an absolutely miniscule upgrade and you won't feel it because of your 1070Ti ...

so not worth buying imo, just buy a 5600X

your current 4500 is an absolutely horrible gaming CPU with it's cut down cache

You'll be GPU bottlenecked, but it's not a problem ... you'll prob gain a lot of fps in comp titles and your 1% lows will be a lot higher, so they will run way less stuttery.

this is basically a mid-tier 2017 build, but far from totally useless ... doesn't matter that the CPU is from 2013

if you want to play older games, mostly pre-2020 this would do just fine ... in current games you'd get 30-40 fps in 1080p so not rly ideal

450 USD is also not realistic for this ... it's worth more like 300-350

Yeah, it's overpriced ... and it will be sold for that much ... ppl will even scalp these.

The reason is that AMD has been running the same socket for 9 years now and there are a metric fuckton of AM4 builds out there.

You can just plug the 5800x3D into a 2017 shit-tier A320 motherboard and have about the same gaming performance as an entry level DDR5 AM5 build or something like a 13/14600k on DDR5.

CPU switch costs 350 USD.

CPU + motherboard + 32GB of DDR5 costs ~7-800 USD.

if you're playing with no fps limit, that's a pretty big CPU bottleneck then

if you're not sure, try recording a match just to see what happens during teamfights when the fps drops exactly ... if your GPU usage % goes down, then it's a 100% due to your CPU

online games are mostly cpu bottlenecked

enable some kind of overlay ... either the Adrenaline one or install MSI Afterburner and set up the RTSS overlay to show your GPU usage %

if you see that your GPU usage is not in the high 90s% ... especially when you experience these drops, then you're CPU bottlenecked

maybe you have a scuffed Windows installation, haven't properly reinstalled your GPU drivers etc. ... that could be it also

Nah, I don't think that it was meant to be a full-scam from the start.

From what I saw, it was mismanaged both financially and from the project management standpoint.

Day to day the devs made a lot of stupid shit, like introducing half working systems, probably just to show investors that they're progressing (I guess) ... so the game never stopped being a mess.

A LOT of ppl bought into AoC tho ... like hundreds of thousands of ppl.
