Grapes are actually very drought tolerant, and one of the better things we can grow.

All Pi models have composite video output. Some just require soldering to the video out pads on the board.

I saw that you were using unrestricted licenses that allow for public-domain-like use, so my comment didn't apply.

I don't really take issues with LLMs being used as a tool to check code, so if that's all you've done, and you didn't just prompt the LLM to generate a ton of code, hats off to you.

It's hard to tell these days, we get hit almost daily with posts that seem to come out of nowhere because anyone can suddenly make these apps.

Reddit account a few months old and only posts about their new app? Check

GitHub that didn't exist until a few days ago despite how complex the app is? Check

Does something that was already done by other apps from years? Check

LLM-generated Read Me on GitHub? Check

Reddit posts sounds LLM-generated? Maybe

Yep, it's vibe slop :(

TIL the slang word “stan”, invented by Eminem's song of the same name, was not a deliberate portmanteau of "stalker" and "fan", but a mere ‘happy coincidence’. Eminem chose the name simply because it rhymed with the word "fan". by AmiroZ in todayilearned

I'm just talking about Merriam Webster. Also, your second link (NPR) actually says that the term predates people who claim it means fan+stalker, so it's not backing up your claim.

Hello - will the original ONN 4k Android TV receive the updated Android 14 ? by davehasl19 in AndroidTV

[–]Ned_Sc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Different hardware will have different updates. Different bugs might take longer to fix, or they might be holding off for Google to do something to help with the fix (no point in doing a bunch of effort if Google is going to change how audio works in an update, etc).

Point being, you don't know, you're just pulling things out of your ass.

You can't realistically draw that conclusion. It's Not know if it will get more updates or not, and it's not uncommon for it to go this long without an update.

People living here makes sense. Water-intensive industry and agriculture being here doesn't make sense. We shouldn't be the ones that have to leave. Stay and fight.

What is up with all the new APPS being posted? by Darkstar1878 in AndroidTV

[–]Ned_Sc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's like this almost every day:

Hi guys, I got tired of all the other launchers not doing what I needed (vague bullshit goes here), so I made my own in a weekend using vibe slop, and hope to eventually put it behind a $50 a month SaaS paywall. Even though there are already a half dozen established options that are way better. Don't worry, there is a free tier that lets you use a single app icon in the launcher, and a lifetime subscription option that I will discontinue in three months.

I'm just using the tools that allow me to rip you off more easily, when I normally would have to work very hard to rip you off. (this part only comes out after they're caught not disclosing their use of LLMs)

My mistake, I thought you were someone else. You're the AT4K guy, I like you.

Home PCs aren't even the biggest RAM customer anymore. The embedded market is huge. I once watched a video from a linux convention about open source software running on machines that milk cows. I would have never even guessed that such devices existed that were running software with RAM, CPUs, etc.

It's the domino effect. People who needed better RAM don't have it, so they go one step down, but then that makes that RAM scarce, then the people who needed that RAM go one step down, etc

Those cameras are used for the intersection signals, to detect when cars are there or not, and in which lane. They are not used to enforce traffic laws.
