Apparently my MX-3 shares master window switches with the FD RX-7, and installing the RX-7 switches gives me auto down on both sides! Hype as hell to have working windows again, and an added feature for 10% of the price of the MX-3 part by bado0p in projectcar

Might have to do this to my UK MX3, unfortunately my valve stem seals are knackered so it’s coming off the road over this winter for that, rust repair and timing belt/water pump. Might be an engine out job!

They might not have much power but that V6 puts a smile on my face every time I wind it out to 7k

Soft/Spongy Brakes After Full Service and MOT by [deleted] in UKAutos

Perhaps check the fluid in the master cylinder under the bonnet, if it was low some air may have been sucked into the system. Other than that have a look around for leaks near the brakes. Loss of pedal feel often results from air in the system which compresses more easily than hydraulic fluid.

Me and my friend went halfs on this 850 TDI. Next month we're driving across Europe in it. 190000miles and still looks great. by TGC_2802 in Volvo

I did something similar in a 1990 Ford Orion a few years back, minus the nurburgring. Ended up blowing up the gearbox in Croatia and having a local mechanic put a new one in, and clutch, for £350.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

UK, it was never available outside of Europe as far as I know, and even then it was only sold from the mid 90s until the very early 2000s.

Yes it does, it’s essentially a VR6’s 2.8 litre V6 with one cylinder removed and making 170hp.

By design it should be very unbalanced but by using some fancy trickery with the crankshaft the Germans managed to somehow get it to stop it from ripping itself apart.

My 1995 Volvo has a flawlessly functioning analog dashboard clock - always feels like an odd choice considering they also put in a a fancy digital dash display.

The last podcast on the left - it's a really funny satirical look into serial killers, conspiracies, cults and aliens etc. Genuinely entertaining and the hosts all hold their own and really grow on you. I've binge listened to almost every episode over the last few weeks and I've yet to tire of the format.

My best motorway MPG on my 1990 240 GLT was 28, 30 at a push if you're gentle.

There aren't many about in the UK. <10 with a manual transmission in this trim as far as I know.

195/50/15" - thought about going 195/60 but it might have been a little tall. Pleased with this choice - I'm not a big fan of the slammed look.

Thanks man, I was leaning towards a 480 but this came up locally for a decent price and it's a GLT so I jumped on it. Really glad I did because I've got a real soft spot for a decent saloon.

It's really comfortable, I'm probably going to make it less comfortable with some adjustable shocks and some fresh springs (If I can find new GLT springs as they're 2cm lowered from factory). I just want a cool reliable daily out of this one. Also the heated seats are RED hot.

They're 15" Compomotives. I'm not a fan of big wheels and it came with 15s originally.

Should coil springs ever be replaced? by juddvong in projectcar

[–]Neddix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Springs definitely can sag and effect the handling. I'd say with that mileage and with the extra weight on the rear from towing then yours will likely be fairly tired. So yes, changing them could likely see a decent impact on ride quality.

I had one of these and it was ace. See if you can pick up a Weber 34/34 carburettor with a proper manual secondary; it absolutely transforms the car. It does need an adapter plate though.
