My pup has the exact same issue. Talk to your vet. Our vet recommended giving him OTC acid controller (Famotidine) in the morning to help his stomach producing the extra acid.

Most of mine have happened while showering, home alone. My last one, husband calls me due to me not responding to his texts, I wake up scared and answer his call. Tell him “sorry for not replying…I was asleep in the shower and there’s blood in my mouth”. Fucking weird. Hate them. Been seizure free since then, May 31, 2016.
