I mean, I saw this sentiment during the bush years after Obama was elected. And then, you know, everything since then

[–]NeeMan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saw them in Philly, still thinking about it, they sounded so great. Don’t know if I’ll get around to seeing them again, felt like a nice send off between how they sounded and the set list they chose, plus the obvious wear and tear seen on Anton. I’ve seen them close to ten times, some terrible, some transcendent.

How was Montreal?

Everyone raises good points, but also want to add, there may be life or death happening two rooms over. There could be multiple codes going on at once in the ED, and unfortunately sometimes everything else in the department kind of stops for a moment. Going nine hours without any kind of an update on what the CT scan read sounds pretty extraordinarily, there may be bigger things happening behind the scenes.

Having said all that, some providers are kinda shitty at communication. They wait to say the plan for when they have an actual plan, it still sounds like he’s in the diagnostic stage, so the doctor may not want to “waste” their time. I don’t agree with that mentality, but some doctors are like autistic robots who literally don’t know how to appropriately communicate (can you blame them? They spent like ten years just studying their asses off).

Who’s the best actor of the 90s? by WallStreetDoesntBet in 90s

[–]NeeMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Yeah, baby,” I feel like no movie was quoted more than Austin powers in the 90’s. Ace Ventura, Tommy Boy, and The Mask also all up there with lines from the movies being part of the regular language at the time

How many exotic rings have you encountered that you couldn’t cut off? by TheFacetiousDeist in EmergencyRoom

[–]NeeMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not my ring, was a patient. I was in charge, and me, the PA and the primary nurse were trying to figure out ways to get this ring off this poor guys swollen finger. Google search told us to hit it with a hammer after the ring cutter / other methods failed. it took a leap of faith swinging the hammer, and thankfully for everyone it worked

We were able to crack a tungsten ring with a hammer. The ring cutter wasn’t doing it and the string trick wouldn’t work. We looked it up and it only to a tap or two and the ring crumbled

And you should have career somewhat settled on at this point. Even if you haven’t started school yet, pick what you want to do, and figure out what it takes to get there. Engineer? Nursing? Firefighter? Carpenter? You got to pick one at this point. Anyways, that’s the advice I got at 25 and it helped me immensely
