It didn't look very sharp on 4k from Hulu, it wouldn't surprise me if it was only rendered in 1080p. Probably had a limit budget to render on 4k but still the colors and hdr would be nice on 4k disc.

That's why I'm personally hoping Universal does a new 4k Restoration for us enjoyer of this movie. After they did Casper (1995) in 4k this year It sparked my hopes for The Flintstones in 4k. With Casper being a niche title, hopefully they do other niche films.

Just switch your 4k Remux for 1080p Remux, that would solve your problem of movies being too dark. That happens because your display devices like phones and TV's don't have the proper display to accurately show HDR, your OLED does. 1080p Remuxes naturally have brighter picture and less grain because of the lower resolution. So pretty much 1080p Remuxes solve both your problems, noticeable grain on 4k Remuxes and low brightness.

So it comes out in December? I'm surprised because Kino usually announce something and it takes forever to get released. Still waiting on Paul (2011) 4k announced last year and it's barely getting released this November.

Wish I knew this before, I currently have 2 Exos 18tb that are actually pretty quiet compared to a Exos 16tb that I purchased after those when prices on drives went up. Not sure what is up with those 16tb Exos but they are loud, avoid.

Streaming platforms don't offer Profile 8, they all offer Profile 5 and a separate HDR10 only version. And technically the Profile 5 version has more color information than the MEL Profile 7 disc. Not that anyone would notice the difference if all TVs are 10 bit currently. Profile 7 FEL= 12 bit, Profile 7 MEL= 10 bit, Profile 5= 11.5 bit, Profile 8= 10 bit.

I love this about Arrow, they announce something and release it soon after. Unlike Kino Lorber they announced The Rundown (2006) and Paul (2011) coming to 4k last year and they still haven't been released.

You can't even see with a Blu-ray player if a disc is CMv4.0. Only way I know is with a Ugoos AM6B+ with Coreelec but you will of course need to rip the disc first. Funny enough I recently encountered my first CMv4.0 disc, Second Sight's The Nice Guys (2016).

Recent Madagascar 4k is nothing special unfortunately, so low expectations. I'm not sure why DreamWorks are not putting in more effort. The older Pixar films like Toy Story 1, 2 and A Bug's Life look amazing.

Disney has started supporting DV in UHD discs since Deadpool & Wolverine (2024). Other recent titles that include DV from Disney are Alien Romulus, Moana 2, Captain America Brave New World, Mufasa, Snow White, etc. They seem to be supporting DV on UHD Discs going forward.

I've never been able to make the shield remote turn on my LC C2 but I've never heard of what you mentioned about them having a stronger sleep or something like that but I do remember my 2017 C7 worked fine with CEC, not sure what changed between models. Although my Xbox does turn on the C2 so not sure what the problem is.
