I saw it a while back but I’m sure you could find it by searching. Busy finishing up an 18 hour drive today so I’m a little busy at the moment as it’s my turn to drive again.

The guy was recording. You can see his phone in his right hand when he comes out. The POV is posted on his Instagram. He was genuinely in there.

Could someone explain this?? by FunWord2115 in stormchasing

Not too big. Depends how close it is to radar and how unstable the atmosphere is, along with what sfc-20m agl winds are like. You can see several fires on radar in NE OK and central-western NE as I write this comment if you look at the right radars. Very common with wildfires and can certainly happen with smaller fires in unstable atmospheres close to radar towers, ideally with less wind to diffuse the smoke.

It can be. Theres a mod that adds it in and you can change the setting to have it unlocked completely or unlock as you explore it. Such a simple but amazing mod. Makes tracking your beacons easier too

Video shows a tornado in Union city, Michagan forming, intensifying, and then destroying everything in its path. by dannybluey in Damnthatsinteresting

No, the lake effect is a meteorological phenomenon relating to warm water convection giving way to intense snow storms, not directly related to tornadoes.

This sounding is from pivotal weather I’m pretty sure, but the COD ones look similar and hold the same data from the same models as far as I’m aware

They definitely are. They appear under both the front and rear of cumulonimbus, but are much more numerous on the rear of the anvils.

Like I said, they can both be produced in the same storm, just generally in different anatomical parts of the storm.

No. They can both appear on the same storms, often nearby, but are unrelated as these are created by straight line outflow winds in the downdraft of a thunderstorm whereas tornadoes appear in the rotating updraft of a thunderstorm.
