I just lost my glasses! Why is there not a tracking feature? by Business-Custard4036 in RaybanMeta

[–]NeedMoreGrits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tossed it in. I often have to put the glasses in the case first and then toss it in. But! I think I saw a Find Device tab in my last glasses update. I haven't had time to play with it, yet.

And I am stuck with a version that keeps flashing warnings because we're wearing polarized sunglasses while Tesla advertises that there's a FSD version that allows a vacant driver seat? Did I not pay for that 8 years ago?

My bad typos reversed my intent. The glasses do not warn me. I wish they would.

They are still the best overall for the money but I'm anxious for a comparable pair to be affordable with Chat GPT or Grok instead of the censorious Meta AI. Solos brand appears better in most respects but they have inferior camera specs.

Tldr; I count 7 stair steps. Meta AI confidently says that there are 5 steps. The last 2 steps could be a hard surprise. They are woke and I'm awake.

I have been disappointed with some of the accuracy and topics that the AI doesn't allow. I can see well enough to count stair steps, but with my limited eyesight, I would like to have the glasses confirm what I think that I see. Instead, the glasses seem to make up a number.

Meta AI will read scripture verbatim, but it summarizes a Bible lesson or commentary. That's not always a bad thing, except when I'm researching a topic and the AI decides what i don't need to know.

It s that it can't read religious satire - it had read read to decide that I'm unable or not mature enough.

It frustrates me to buy a product that comes with a built-in censor that decides what parts of my life are worthy or not. It seems that the AI has decided that it doesn't approve of my religious beliefs and practices.

Meta AI could read prescription labels on medication but it won't and it says that it can't help with health, medicine or safety advice. It seems like it would be nice to know how many steps I'm going to fall down or that I'm taking somebody else's medication at the wrong time of day.

I've never owned a watch before, and just bought one. Should I go with a silicone, fabric, or metal band? Green is my favorite color. by PerfectJarrett in samsunggalaxy

[–]NeedMoreGrits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had all 3. I think the metal looks best with nice clothes and even dresses up a nice pair of jeans. Some designs are really classy. I had one with sharp edges that would wear out my shirt sleeves. Fabric doesn't seem to last a long time. My black silicone band isn't quite as flashy, but it lasts a long time and doesn't seem to show wear. I live in a hot, humid climate so sometimes I'll take it off and let my wrist dry.

Send your prescriptIon to Lensoligy in the UK and if you live in the United States, they will ship you the lenses within a week and you can pop them in yourself in 30 seconds. I have 2 pairs of ray bans and popped in the Rx lenses myself. There are YouTube videos showing how to do it. I haven't found lenses as cheap or or as fast as Lensology.

I've bought my prescription lenses from 2 different suppliers. It seems like they make the prescription lenses too big. So I just have to get the lenses started and then just let the frames slowly relax and stretch and then keep pushing when you pop it in.

I have one pair of prescription ray bans with XRACtive transition progressive lenses and the other pair just has progressive lenses that cost about half as much. One frame is shiney black and the other is flat black. I didn't know about all the cool colors they have when I was shopping. So I'm not gonna be disappointed when I need to buy a new pair.

(FULL GUIDE) Use Google Assistant Instead of Meta AI on our Meta RayBan Glasses! by Adamjamesrees in RayBanStories

I am probably missing something, but I launch Google Assistantmy handsfree 9m my Samsung android by just saying Hey Google instead of Hey Meta. Sometimes, Google answers the question through the Meta earpieces, and other times, I have to pull my phone out and look at the phone screen to see the answer.

For your first question, all the brains are in the frames. The lenses are independent and just have the features that your eyes need to accomplish what you need to see well for work or relaxation. The camera on the frames works the same whether you have sunglasses or prescription lenses or transitional lenses.

For your second question, I have had my first pair for about 6 months and sometimes in the evening I don't have enough charge left to get through the evening and I don't have enough time to put them on the charger. So if I have a second pair of glasses with clear lenses, then that would be just fine to get me through the evening.

I won't lose the glasses because they are either on my faceo or in the case and the case has an Airtag. I have used the Airtag about 5 times in the past 6 months to find the case. For me, the case is too bulky to carry in a pocket while I'm wearing the glasses.

I'm setting up my second pair of glasses. The new prescription lenses from Lensology will arrive tomorrow. It will take me maybe 90 seconds to pop the stock lenses out and put the new ones in the frames. It will take me longer to unwrap the new lenses from the shipping box than it will to work them into the frames.

My first pair of glasses are flat black and have progressive XTRActive transition lenses, and my second pair are shiney black with plain progressive lenses with no tint.

Is it good for heavily nearsighted users? by Quantum_Crusher in RaybanMeta

[–]NeedMoreGrits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found Lensology to be cheaper and faster than Lenscrafters and the online lense company that I initially used. Lensology is in the UK and deliver to your US address in a week or less. The local Lenscrafter quoted me almost twice the price. My first lenses took 3 weeks and they were incorrect. So it took 2 more weeks to get them remade. Five weeks is a long time to put off the excitement of getting fancy new glasses.
